You find yourself walking along a well worn
path through pale green and yellow grass with purple flower
heads. The air is dry and sweat drips from your brow as you
walk along. You hope you can find a drink soon. To your left
you hear a low growl, and you quickly look in that
direction. You can't see anything because of the grass, so
you turn back to the path to continue on, only to be
confronted by a strange animal.

Even though the catlike creature is
small, she holds herself like a predator, so you
are weary.
Whoa, glad I caught up with you
you hear a voice say, and recognise it as
Lauren's. This is Fyre, a fire themed female
melcey. What's a melcey? How could you not know?
Alright, I'll explain.
Melceys are small cat-/dog-like
pack animals. They can run extremely fast, have
excellent vision and can be trained. At hearing
this you relax a little, until Lauren says But I
like to keep them half wild, so they still have
spirit. They're good-natured animals, but are often
mischievous and sarcastic.

Fyre walks up to you and starts to
inspect you. Apparently deciding that you're okay,
she nuzzles up to Lauren's hand. This is when you
notice a slightly smaller melcey hanging off
Lauren's clothing.
Oh, this is Wytro, a sky themed
male. He hasn't been here as long as Fyre, so he's
still a bit timid. Lauren see's a question
forming in your mind. Let me guess, you want to
know more about the themes I mentioned for each
melcey? Sure thing! A melceys theme determines it's
magical abilities and colouring.

Lauren hands you a bound scroll, which you
proceed to unroll. The theme information is as taken
straight from Purple Savannah:
Fire - (patron elemental Moranerial, color red)
The pups born with a fire theme are colored in the "hot"
colors: red, yellow, purple, orange, warm blues. They
specifically focus on the use of temperature, and are
capable of creating and controlling flame. Associated
strongly with Darkness.
Sky - (patron elemental Folanerial, color light
blue) The pups born with Sky themes are cool, light colors.
Some Sky pups have the ability to create currents of
electricity, while others have the ability to control winds
and other weather elements. Associated strongly with Life,
less so Time and Earth.
Riptide - (patron elemental Raenerial, color
pink/rose) Fairly rare and dangerous melcey pups, all
Riptide melceys are female. They represent insanity, being
able to control negative emotions to the point of eliciting
violence. Riptide melceys are fairly calm and cold in
demeanor themselves, but they need an owner who has strong
mental capacity, or eventually the taint of the melcey's
power will make anyone nearby lose their minds. Weakly
associated with Darkness, strongly with Chaos.

As you reach the end of the scroll
you hear a low growl.
This is Rhyes, she's a Riptide
theme, so you need to be careful. She's beautiful,
but she can be dangerous, so take a quick look,
then we'll leave.
Rhyes came from wild parents in
Litter 63.
