Welcome to the Festive Dreamstar!

For quite a while I didn't want to put too much info about me on my site. Not because I was scared someone would stalk me or something, but just because I though no one would be interested. Now though I figure it's my site, so I'll put what I want up. So now you get to find out ALL about me.

After realising that this page hadn't been seriously updated since about the time I wrote it in '98, I decided to re-write it. So behold, the 21st century Lauren!

Let's see. My name is Lauren Ritchie, pretty obvious since I put it at the bottom of every page in my site. I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Earth, Sol Solar System. I currently attend high school, and I'm completing my last year there, yay! At the time of last update I was 16 and a half years old. If you want to work out how old I am now my birthday was on the 26th of May, 1984. I expect a birthday card now, okay? During my last month at school I discovered that I actually like drawing, which was a suprise because I used to hate it. If you want to take a look at my drawings you can check out my Elfwood Gallery. If your interested in art, either drawing it or admiring it, then you should check out Elfwood, it's totally amzing. I like collecting teddy-bears, cats, any type of small model, stamps and stickers. Let's face it, I'm a pack rat! I love anything that I can look at and cuddle but not do much else with. I love soft toys and am always buying more, though I think that might have to change since I'm running out of places to keep them!

My favourite number is two. My fave colour is bright orange, even though I'm allergic to oranges, nuts too. My fave animals are cats and numbats, my fave computer programs at the moment are The Sims and ThemePark Hospital. I like playing basketball, even though I'm way clumsy. I'm also a ref, and coach of my sister's team. Other likes include reading and writing fantasy and sci-fi and playing most other sports you can think of. I'm a blood donor, and when I die I've also requested to donate my organs.

I used to have a pet cat called Ralph but he had to be put down. We've now got a new cat called Artemis. Don't laugh, I named her. Artemis was the greek goddess of hunting. My favorite authors are Victor Kelleher, Tamora Pierce, Isobelle Carmody and Catherine Jinks. I like listening to Jewel, Everclear, Garbage, and Custard. My favourite song is "The Freshmen" by The Verve Pipe.

I have a brother called Michael who's 11 and a sister called Kirstin who's 13 (visit her page here, I'm helping here with it). I got my learner's permit for driving on the 19th of December. I'll scan in a photo of it soon. Now I just have to avoid crashing, which will probably be hard, considering two of my friends crashed recently and another two just had their licences taken away.

I've recently started taking pottery lessons at the local community centre. It's so much fun, even though it's a bit expensive. I get to make anything I feel like. So far I've only been handbuilding, but next week I think I might try using the wheel. I've taken a picture of the things I made on the first week, so as soon as I get the film developed I'll scan it in and put it on display.

Yep, that's me: I sound perfectly normal. Unless you know me, then it's kind of 'How can she sound so normal?' Think I'm joking? I had my PE teacher call me strange, then try to cover up by saying I'm not strange, I just do strange things. I also remember really strange irrelevant things, but that's irrelevant in itself. If there's anything else you want to know about this quirky character you'll have to ask me! As long as I don't think it's too personal, I'll answer. See ya round the site!
