My Second Grade Writing

Once upon a time a girl found a mask. At first, it looked like a fun mask, but it was haunted. On Halloween she put on the mask. But close to midnight the mask turned her into a spooky monster.

The kids were scared. They ran in every direction. People were looking for her. The man in front had a flashlight. They were walking in tall grass. They didn't know she was coming toward them. She saw the legs of the man in front. She grabbed the legs of the man. He fell to the ground. People were looking around but all they could see was a flashlight on the ground.

Later, the man took off the mask from the spooky monster, and the spooky monster was the girl again.

Volcanoes

Volcanoes are big mountains with pointy tops. They explode and lava comes out. When the lava cools down it turns into mud. The mud is at the top of the volcanoes. Sometimes it tells scientists if a volcanoe is alive, resting, or dead.

That is what I know about volcanoes.

Trading Places With My Cousin

One day I was in my cousin's bed. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I got dressed. The shorts were too big. My aunt took me to six grade. My cousin was in my bed. He went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He got dressed. He went to the scale. He was shocked when he was 58 pounds!

I was doing hard math. I didn't know where the bathrooms were. My cousin got A+ on every paper. Everybody was saying to him "Ricky you have grown!". Everybody was saying to me "Jimmy have you shrunk?" In the room I sounded weird when I played the saxophone. My cousin won five times in a row.

At P.E. I was running 3 miles. In back of me I could hear big kids running after me. Then I ran into a pole. My cousin ran into a classroom wall. When we got up, we found ourselves on our regular playground.

A Ghost Is Gone With His Tooth

One hot day a boy named Mike was on a boat. "I caught a fish!" Mike yelled to his brother Joe. Then the boat sank. Mike found himself in a cave.

Then came a ghost. It was green. The ghost wanted to eat Mike. Mike was scared. The ghost got closer and closer. Mike picked up a rock and threw it at the ghost. The rock hit the ghost, then a tooth fell out. The ghost was so scared. He ran away never to return again.
