. . . For the most part, I don't mind the changes that were made to Storybook Land in 1994. Actually, I like where they put King Triton's kingdom under the waterfall. But the inclusion of Agrabah caused Toad Hall to be moved from its former place and stuck unceremoniously into the side of a hill, where it looks out of place. . .

pointless trivia
- Storybook Land is partly based on Madurodam, a tourist attraction in Holland that Walt Disney visited, which featured miniature buildings, streets, walkways, and windmills. (The E-Ticket, Summer 1991)
- At the opening of Disneyland, Storybook Land was called "Canal Boats of the World" but its loud, unreliable boats toured banks mostly covered with weeds. (Ibid)
- The buildings are built to 1/12 scale. (Ibid)
- Men were recently integrated into the previously woman-dominated ride as guides.
- Walt originally envisioned the Storybook Land canal as a "Lilliputian Land" with miniature people and towns and a big, imposing giant. This idea was based on one of Gulliver's adventures in Jonahthan Swift's 1726 allegorical novel, "Gulliver's Travels." Unfortunately, the technology in the mid-50's was insufficient for the Imagineers to realize this vision. (Disneyland: Inside Story) - search for it on amazon.com
- Scenes inspired by Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are the most recent additions to Storybook Land. To accomodate the changes, Toad Hall was moved and "Never, Never Land ("Where you never, never go") was transformed into the underwater world of King Triton.
