the accident

me and laur were drivin down to the beach tonight and while going around one of those dark windy bends we see flashing red lights, and turn the corner and see two giant fire trucks, police cars, and a crowd around this smashed up smoking car... it looked horrible. i was like wow, i'm glad that's not us. its crazy to think how car accidents just happen all the time. i've been lucky not to ever be driving when i got in one, and not to ever have been in a bad one.
anyway, we had to turn around cause the street was blocked off. tried to go a different way to the beach, but got lost and ended up at that weird traffic circle again. later we went back to the beach down the route we had first taken, and when we came upon that intersection again.... nothing. it had been completely cleared out. i slowed down over the spot where everything had been, and except for a few white marks on the road, there was absolutely no sign that there had been a horrible accident there only an hour before or so.
it was so creepy to drive over that spot... i thought, 'we just drove right over where a person might have died earlier... and no one will ever know. no sign of it at all, we're the only people who know right now maybe...' it was just horrible to think about. cleared up so fast like it never happened. couldn't help thinking of 1984.
a little bit after that i was almost at the dreaded sharp turn to the beach, and i got this wretched feeling in my stomach like i was about to die. i slowed down and cut off what laur was saying just to tell her that. my heart started pounding and my stomach felt weird and i just had this terrible feeling, i don't really know what. maybe it was cause the accident scared me. i wasn't imagining a car accident or anything, but it just really made me want to turn around and leave that place. couldn't of course cause the road is so skinny there and stuff. i dunno. it was really weird. nothing did happen the rest of the night tho, nothing bad. hmm. maybe somebody died somewhere that i know? yeek. i hope not...
