fubbalo life - events/experiencesfor me to note my few real experiences up here, rather than just when we sit around and watch south park and drink forties :) last night - halloween rather than running around ducking raw eggs this year, me and mike went to the showing of rocky horror picture show on campus. whooooooo it was damn cool. ive seen the movie a bunch and at theatre 3 i saw it 30 nights in a row, but this was something different. they actually gave us newspapers, toilet paper, noisemakers, and "toast" [cold bread]. a chaotic conglomeration of draculas and skanks, with i guess only a few hard core cultists. but it was neat anyway, throwing things and saying slut and asshole and everything else at the appropriate time. i didn't think buffalo would actually pull it off, but a lot of people showed up and it was hella cool ;) why the hell am i writing about this. i was just really happy to be doing something different for a change that was far away from the abercromie clods up here. whoo! they even got people to go up and dance the time warp. and at the beginning they made all the "virgins" to the show hop onto the stage and fake an orgasm. "anyone wearing a ub sweatshirt, that's a virgin." haha. and someone was and got pulled up there. fortunate for mike, i didn't force him to. they had the actors up there doing the stage part but they stunk mostly and at least were easy to ignore for the sake of viewing the movie. by the time we got back [it was a midnight showing], we were too damn tired to drink. :-) sleep is good. ----------------------- last week alicya invited me to go down to elmwood with her to take pictures. i got superexcited cause i never get down there because i have no car. anyway. after some reheated real food at her apartment and a visit to some sort of japanese garden [why the hell was there a concrete bridge connecting two islands that were unreachable without floating across the water?], we make it down. i'd never been down there and it was SO COOL. there were funky shops and restaurants and eateries and a unique shoe store with chic bags and the apartments were so cute and ornate. purple with yellow shingles, crazy foliage on the lawn, tiny rooms with windows at the tops. oh and there was some diner with like the barstools and countertop, and a place that plays jazz on thursdays and saturdays. and, of course, the spot coffee shot that was overflowing with guys in black and gray musing quietly in their minds. i absolutely need to go back down there. i want to live down there. it is insane ive never really bothered. ive just heard it wasn't that special. but i think it is. a place i should have showed my family when they came up, anyway. well, i daresay i will NOT be stuck on this dreaded campus next summer and next year. screw that. im living off campus and getting to these places. *sticks chin out at air* |
