This little car is used by Johnny Thunder to get around the desert excavation site. Its light weight combined with a powerful engine makes this car overcome any sand dune.

The 3055 was part of a promotion campaign in UK from Kellogg's Cornflakes in 1998. The campaign included the three sets 3054, 3055 and 3056. The 3055 was available from Kellogg's Cornflakes in UK until December 1999. Getting this set required collecting 8 tokens from the LEGO or Wake Up promotions. Having no tokens I started by e-mailing Kellogg's with no success. I then sent a letter that was obviously pushed from desk to desk because it took a month before somebody replied:

"Dear Christian

RE: PROMOTION REQUEST

Thank you for your application for a Kellogg's Lego set.

Unfortunately, none of our offers or competitions are applicable outside the United Kingdom due to the logistics involved in arranging shipment and also, often, customs authorities impose large tariffs on such items.

It is with regret that I am unable to be of assistance, nevertheless, I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your custom and hope that you continue to enjoy Kellogg products in the future.

I then sent a letter in which I wrote that I was willing to pay with a check in £ drawn on a UK bank and that I had a friend in the UK they could send the set to. I got no reply. I then called and the answer was: "Sorry, but we need 8 tokens!". The bottom line is that there was no other way than to get somebody in UK to eat a lot of cereals fast and send the tokens and 20 pence to postage to:
