Weapons of Choice: Brute strength
Mad scientist, Dr. Woodrue, decided to create the perfect fighting machine. He selected a career criminal and operated on him to add tubes which carried venom to his brain and increase his body size and strength. Dr. Woodrue called his fighting machine Bane. He planned to sell Bane, and others like him, to terrorists. His plans came to an end when he was killed by Poison Ivy.
Bane is one of the most lethal enemies of Batman and his only apparent goal in life is to break Batman. It is my understanding that he does just that by brutally breaking Batman's back and temporarily halting Batman's ability to fight crime.
