Henry was born in Galati, Romania in 1898 and came to the United States in 1911. His father died shortly thereafter, so he began working at age 13. He owned a clothing store at 14th St. and 3rd Ave. in Miami. Although he rebuilt after the 1926 hurricane, he brought the family to Phoenix in 1930, where he worked in a department store. In 1936 he moved to Jacksonville, FL. He retired to Miami Beach, where he stayed busy as a volunteer at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital.
