If you thought that all Peter could do was catch footballs then you'd be proven completely wrong. Amongst his talents he is a musical master. In his spare time, he likes to bash away at his drum kit and twiddle with his piano. So when his Euro '96 championship appearance was pending, Peter Schmeichel wrote his very own hit single in order to cheer on his team mates and get the nation behind them. The song was called "We can do it" , and it won't flying up the Danish charts. The single was sung by a popular Danish singer called Gry Luka. Peter, not wanting to be left out, sang the rap and he played almost all of the instruments as well. Unfortunately, despite the song, the cup holders Denmark went out in the early stages of the competition! It seems as though this could be the last song that Peter will be writing for a while. Which some would say is a pity. He's probably better off sticking to jamming at home and saving his voice for yelling at his team mates and keeping them in order! Still perhaps when he retires, he will be able to tour the world with an album. Don't hold your breath though, goalkeepers are well renowned for playing on until a late age. Peter Shilton is approaching 50 and still stopping goals!
