Road Trip - Saturday
Introduction

Sunday

First stop on the way home was Mt Panorama, Bathurst. Sally's car was new, so had a test drive round the circuit. We didn't break any records. In Bathurst we stopped off to buy a newspaper, garbage bags and some fresh bread.

Next stop was Oberon. What a city! (I use the term loosely) It was time for a toilet stop, and a check of the map. With the route to Jenolan caves planned, we set off again.

We arrived at Jenolan caves around midday. After reading about the different caves, and how much they cost, we decided to take a tour of the Imperial and Diamond cave. This wasn't till 3:30, so we had some lunch - sandwiches and grapes, and went for a walk to kill some time. During our walk we managed to see Carlotta's Arch, the Devil's Coach House, the Grand Arch, and have a walk along the banks of the river. After all this there was still an hour and a half until the tour, so we had a snooze in the car.

The tour of the cave was pretty good. Our guide was very enthusiastic (almost too enthusiastic). We saw stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, columns, straws and shawls. We even saw an underground river! The water was very clear.

We then headed back up the road to the camping area. After pitching camp, we whipped up some dinner. Much to our surprise, we remembered to put water on to wash up with, so our plates and billy managed to get cleaned!

With all the fresh air we'd gotten, we were ready for bed rather early, and popped off to sleep without too much fuss.
