Hello everyone! I have a few minutes to give an update. Jordan and Jennifer just left to go to the fair grounds. Some of their friends are showing goats. (Jen is home because her room-mate went home for the weekend. I was surprised to see her back so soon, but think the prison escapees have made her a little nervous. For those of you who don't live in Texas, or haven't heard, about 6 weeks ago 7 men escaped from a prison in Kennedy which is about 40 miles from us. They robbed a sporting goods store in Arlington and killed a police officer. After the initial shock, I believe everyone is a little nervous and definitely more cautious. Apparently one or more of the escapees have relatives living in our town. I pray that they are captured before anyone else loses their life.)
Anyway, I'm glad to have Jennifer back for the weekend. She spent Friday with Jordan, as our schools were out. They've spent the today together which makes Jordan feel very special. It makes me proud too. I can remember when I was a teenager and I sure didn't care to have my little sister following me around. heheehe Boy, I wish she lived closer now, I'd follow her around.
We see Dr. C tomorrow. We had Jordan's lab work done about 2 weeks ago, so the results should all be in. I pray that everything looks good. We've seen no changes in her. She is doing very well and acts as though she feels great.
Please keep up your prayers. They are truely appreciated!
Dr. C was pleased with her lab results as well as her physical capabilities. Her Aldolase was slightly high but he didn't seem too concerned. He did increase her methotrexate by 2 tablets. She now receives 8 instead of 6 which makes her dose 20 mgs weekly.
Jordans face seems to be really broken out. We think it is a combination of acne and possibly the JDMS rash. The calcification on her elbows seem to be larger, however, the one small spot on her jaw bone has disappeared. Her shin had a pretty large one too, yet it has gone as well. Her right forearm does had a large calcium spot that appeared a few months ago. Dr. C suggested Jordan be more careful when resting her arms on her school desk. He also said that if she begins to take falls during basketball, she may need to wear elbow and knee pads. He was glad to hear she was capable of participating in sports. Naturally, we are too.
Jordan was asked to participate in a U.I.L. reading contest. Her teacher apparently couldn't find enough students interested, so at the last minute, she, according to Jordan, practically "begged" her too. Jordan isn't fond of reading, so we were surprised to find that she had accepted. She only had about a week to learn the part. Surprisingly, she was the only student from her school that won first place! She goes to the finals February 17th. We are so proud of her!
She has grown up so much this past year. She looks forward to school dances and has one coming up for Valentines. She's acquired a new hobby.........SHOPPING! I have no problem keeping up with her.......but I'm not sure the money will....heheheh
Please keep us all in your prayers.
