Create, Gain, Train, Practice, and Remort in 5 easy steps!

Basic Concepts
SKILLS/SPELLS
  • Skills and spells are the essence of your character.
  • Examples of skills are: Kick, Dodge
  • Examples of spells are: Gas breath, Create food, Teleport
  • Different classes and races get different skills & spells.
  • "Skills" and "Spells" are used loosely. Take "skills" to mean both.
Main difference is that spells are "casted" with mana("cast teleport").
  • "Groups" (eg. Weaponsmaster) are collections of skills (eg. axe, dagger, sword)
    GAIN
  • When you CREATE, you start with certain skills and spells depending on your class.
  • The more skills you start with, the higher the EXPERIENCE to next level(tnl).
  • You can also GAIN these skills later with TRAINS.
    TRAIN & PRACTICE
  • As you level, you get TRAINS(1 per level) and PRACTICES(depend on WIS).
  • You can train Stats(str,dex,wis,con,int) and HP/Mana/Moves.
  • Trains are also used for (1)Gaining new skills (2)Lowering exp tnl. (min 1000)
  • You can practice Skills/Spells. This makes you better at using them.
  • Trains and Practices are interconvertable (10 pracs = 1 train)

    Basic Tips
  • This section assumes you have created with the DEFAULT groups. (Creation tips later)
  • Find out which the useful skills are(ask on class channel, or see class pages later)
  • Use the "GAIN LIST" and "GROUPS " command to determine the Trains needed.
  • In general, gain entire groups, rather than individual skills.
Firstly, it is almost always cheaper (in terms of trains)
Secondly, you need to gain spells by groups- you can't gain them individually.
  • Use levelling eq (esp. max. Wis) to get more pracs. Wear this just before levelling.
  • Maximize your Int before practicising, to get a greater % improvement.

    Intermediate Tips
  • Gain early groups (eg. weaponsmaster) before later ones (eg. noble thief, superhero)
  • Keep your exp tnl below 1500, and get it down to 1000 ASAP with "GAIN POINTS"
  • How to get more Trains/Pracs.
You occasionally get trains/pracs upon completion of Quests/Global Quests.
Don't waste your QPs or TPs buying trains/practices.
Wear that levelling eq! 1 prac more per level = 200 pracs over 200 levels!
  • How to save your trains/pracs!
If you've practiced the skill to 73%, save that last prac, 2% ain't worth it. :P
Don't practice racial or aardeq skills. They're 100%, even if it says 1%.
Certain skills improve VERY fast. Practice them by using them, and get exp too!
(esp. Exotic - its CPs are sky-high, and it improves like a jet plane :)

    Advanced Tips
  • Know your plan: Supernewbies, powerlevellers, and SH-sitters all differ:
Normal:Minimize starting TNL. Train Stats 1st, then Gain skills & Train hp/mana.
Supernewbies:Create with all groups. Train Stats & hp. Gain points, then level.
Powerlevellers:Like normal, but emphasize on gaining groups before remort.
SH-sitters:For remorts. Emphasize hp. Gain unecessary skills just before remort.
  • Fine-tune your levelling and practices - see the specifics on:
         1) Levelling: Adjusting your WIS to maximise pracs
         2) Practicing: The relationship between Creation Points and Int
  • The time when you most need that extra boost is between lvl 1 and 20
This is especially so if you haven't got low lvl aardeq
One way is to find better (but hard to get) eq (Eg Lvl 10 Holy Staff (Wis+2))
The other is to get a "levelling" spellup, eg from war, or recited from a scroll.
The third is to borrow a supernewbie's low-than-normal-level eq
As a guide, you can max WIS/CON/INT by lvl 10-15 with aardeq, or 20-30 without.
