Superhero & Remorting
Aard has changed a lot since the days I started - then even being
a noble was a big deal, and a remort, wow! Today, one sees 4 or 5 class remorts everywhere,
and tiers are commonplace. So being a single class superhero isn't such a big deal anymore,
and there is little incentive to stay there. So if you're a single classer SH, take my advice,
remort!
Why you might want to stay a single class superhero:
Money run - spell casters and paladins.
Defend your clan - (but Single-classers nowadays are quite useless against raiders)
Sick of levelling and don't feel like playing much.
Nobody to hold your eq - Make friends or Rauction it
Map the SH areas - (not a good reason - easier to map with more classes)
What should I do as a multi-class SH?
Power up - 30k's the limit! :) - 1000tnl only, but only if you're not remorting soon
Money run - best time to do so!
Map all areas - thrash those wimpy mobs!
Raid/Defend - This is where all the action is!
Get an SH title - If you're staying SH a while
Chit chat, help newbies - Take a break :)
After 201 levels (at least), you should have a good idea of what Aard is like,
and the general differences between the various classes (if not the fine details).
Most people will remort into a class complementary to their first.
* You should get [Cle/Psi] + [Thief] + [War] as soon as possible.
(Pal/Ran to replace [War] if you're that)
* This is what I would do, based on my first class. (no flames please :)
-[Cle] -> War + Thi + Mage
-[Psi] -> War + Thi + Mage
-[Mag] -> Ran + Thi (Option 1 - gets healing spells)
-[Mag] -> War + Cle + Thi (Option 2 - better offense)
-[Pal] -> Thi + Mage
-[Ran] -> Thi + Mage
-[Thi] -> Cle/Psi + War + Mage
-[War] -> Cle/Psi + Thi + Mage
Nitty-Gritties about remorting
Before remorting:
- Sort out your eq:
1) get low level eq and put it in a bag
2) make a list of eq to sell/rauction
3) get someone to hold your high level eq (NO REFUNDS IF LOST!)
- Post a note announcing your rauction time and items
Remorting:
- Finish your last quest
- Give the eq you need after remorting to someone to hold temporarily.
(In particular, DON'T wear anything invis/hidden)
- Announce that you're remorting, and the rauction note number
- Go to the Chamber of Rebirth: run 2s3w4ne2n;op e;e;op d;d
- Read Help Remort, Help Rauction
- Say bye to Pooh on: Immtalk, Ftalk (They work!)
Once remorted:
- Get back the low level eq you left with the guy just before remorting.
- Buy whatever lvl 1 aardeq you need
- Train all your stats to max
- Gain what you need to gain
- Maximize your Int, and practice what you need
- Redo your aliases, triggers, etc.
- Remove forsale note
- Reset(lower) wimpy
HELP! I've...
Q: Left something in the Chamber of rebirth
A: Get an SH to pick it up for you. You may need to CONSENT him.
Q: Worn something invisible and I can't remort!
A: You need an imm, Moron, or a detect invis scroll. Don't you read above??
Q: Logged off halfway through remorting!
A: Don't worry, it'll be saved, and you can come back later to try again.
When should I stop remorting?
Hard to say, really. The same reasons above will apply though, but...
Sick of levelling - more and more likely, esp. with the increasing tnl.
Defend your clan - feasible once you're a 2 or 3 classer
What's a good combination to stop at?
1 class: Ranger or Paladin
2 classes: Warrior/Thief + Psi/Cleric/Ranger
3 classes: Warrior/Thief + Mage + Psi/Cleric/Ranger
or: Warrior + Thief + Psi/Cleric/Ranger
4 classes: Warrior + Thief + Mage + Psi/Cleric/Ranger
5 classes: Warrior + Thief + Mage + Psi + Cleric/Ranger
6 classes: Warrior + Thief + Mage + Psi + Cleric + Ranger
Don't. :-P
