Pooh never told you these things about PKilling

Remember, I NEVER said any of this :)

  • Most attackers will attack in groups of 2 or more
This way, they can (1)Use black root (2)Heal/Rescue each other (3)Kill you real fast
  • At SH level, time for expiry of globe(2 ticks) and antimagic(4 ticks)
and switch attacks as necessary. Watch for globe and antimagic quaffs.
  • Burnt + Intimidate buys you time if you're near death and webbed
  • "Retreat" early if you see yourself getting black rooted.
  • AC and SAVES are more important against players than mobs.
  • Balor is one of the best skills against high-HP players.
  • Conversely, don't quaff regens at 20k hp, the 5k hp gain will get balored away instantly
Wait until 5k hp or less to quaff regens (if at all)

Miscellaneous tips I never said either

  • When questing in STTNG, type "where", to watch for PKers entering.
  • STTNG and deadlights, while _appearing_ to be mazes, aren't truly random.
Explore, and you'll realise you can actually Retreat to safety easily.
  • Brewing regens at 190 means you have a level 188 potion that works just as well at 201
  • cast area attack spells (gas breath, earthquake) to draw regenners into the fight
  • Having (not) said all that, PK is really the ultimate challenge/pinacle
perhaps even as much as raiding and gquesting. The adrenaline rush is just there. :P

Some things I *did* say

  • Remember, death isn't that big a deal. Don't whine.
  • Neither is winning. Don't gloat.
  • Don't PK if you aren't willing to lose.
  • Decide on your priorities and stick to them.
If 2500exp is more important than getting called a wimp, flee, and ignore the taunts.
    NO WHAT-IFS.
  • Avoid starting or responding to "you quaff", "no you quaffed first" crap.
  • Be a gracious winner or loser. The day you might need his help isn't too far away.
  • Learn from your mistakes, and pick up tips from the other side.
