Few Secrets of Human Existence...
"Manu Smriti" claims that the total life span of human existence is 1000 Chaturyugies (1 Chaturyug = 4.32mn yrs) which is called one day of the "Brahman"
It gives the span of four "Yugas" as:
Krit Yuga 4000 divine yrs + terminal 400 divine yrs on each side Treta Yuga 3000 divine yrs + terminal 300 divine yrs on each side Dwapar Yuga 2000 divine yrs + terminal 200 divine yrs on each side Kali Yuga 1000 divine yrs + terminal 100 divine yrs on each side Here
1 divine yr = 360 solar yrs
The total of 4 Yugas = 10 000 divine yrs + 2000 terminal divine yrs
= 12 000 divine yrs
= 4.32mn solar years
= 1 Chaturyug.
Therefore, total human life span is 1000 × 4.32mn yrs = 4.32bn yrs. On the basis of Vedas too, the human life span is 4.32bn yrs. However, Vedas say that the human existence is not continuous one. It has to be completed in 100 parts during Sun's span of 100 cosmic yrs. Thus, each existence would last for 43.2mn yrs. But the solar spring is of 36mn yrs which is equivalent to 10 Chaturyugies without the terminal periods. Adding terminal periods of 3.6mn yrs on each side, total period becomes (36 + 3.6 + 3.6)mn yrs = 43.2mn yrs. Therefore, Manu Smriti, and Vedas give same total human life span on the earth.
Thus, the discrepancy of total human life span has been removed. The discrepancy rose because of regarding the total 4.32bn yrs as continuous. Also, calculations based on the Vedas say that there have been 46 human existences in earlier 46 revolutions of the Sun around the Galaciatic core and we are living in the 454th Chaturyug.
