The Expansion of the System of Galaxies - A Myth
The phenomenon of Red Shift of the light coming from distant galaxies discovered by Hubble in 1920 had to be regarded as a Doppler effect due t the recession of the Galaxies, away from the earth since no other explanation was available. With the advent of Theory of Relativity, the scientist abandoned the concept of "medium permeating all space". Hence, the loss of energy of the photons due to resistance of the medium was not considered. Since, galaxies in all direction showed Red Shift, it was clear that they are receding away from us. Further, it was found that farther away is the galaxy, the greater is the speed of recession. so much so that, most distant galaxies were flying with velocities scarcely less than the speed of light.
Since all galaxies had an outward motion, it was assumed that they must have been together at some point of time. This time was calculated to be 10bn yrs. So it was concluded that all the galaxies were confined in a small volume in a very dense state, at this point of time, a very large explosion "Big Bang" gave birth to the Universe.
But the Big Bang theory has following defects :
1. It does not explain as to whence did all matter come from in the very beginning of the Universe.
2. Why initial matter became so dense to be confined in a small volume ?
3. No explanation for the formation of the nuclei consisting of 5 or more particles, since configuration of 5 particles they is unstable.
4. Intensity of explosion that could gave huge masses velocities almost equal to that of light is beyond imagination.
All the above difficulties arise due to wrong interpretation of the phenomenon of the cosmological Red Shift, that gave rise to this concept if receding galaxies. Modern theories are also uncertain about fate of the universe. Some say that the expansion will continue to infinity, other say that expansion will stop and then the universe will start contracting. There would thus oscillation of the Universe between contraction and expansion. These are mere conjectures of scientist based on relativistic formalism, which they have adopted for their calculation. Some of these formalisms have included a term λ which represent the cosmic repulsion. Such force is assumed to have property that increases with distances. No theoretical explanation has been give for this nature of the force.
Therefore Red Shift interpretations as a Doppler Effect is a MYTH.
The Vedas speak of space energy permeating all space. The cosmological red shift is due to loss of energy by the photons due to resistance of this medium. As the distance of the galaxy increases, the photon travels for more time, and hence the loss of energy is greater. Therefore, the Red Shift is greater. The photon being a spinning quanta of energy affects the medium of cosmic energy by creating a wave system. It may be easily shown that since loss of energy of the photon per unit length would be proportional to the frequency of the photon, the Red Shift would be proportional to the wavelength.
The loss of energy of the photon = -h dυ where h = Planck's Constant. dυ is the decrease in frequency of the photon covering a distance of dx.
Therefore the loss in energy must be equal to kυ dx where k is a constant. Therefore, dυ/υ = k/h dx since, c = υλ Therefore, dλ/λ = k/h dx Therefore, dλ = (k/h) λ dx Therefore, λ = λ0e(k/h)x
The k/h term is about 10-10 (From mystery of Expanding Universe by, William Bonner) when distances are taken in light years. taking first terms of the exponential form, λ = λ0 (1 + k'x) where, k' = (k/h)
or (λ - λ0) / λ0 = k'x which is Hubble's Law.
However, when the x is of the order of several billion light years, higher terms of the expansion must be taken into account.
Therefore, for galaxies, 10bn light years away, the received wavelength is "e" times the original value.
The fact that cores of Galaxies are at absolute rest is being acknowledge at various places in the Vedas though they are rotating about its axis and is vibrating.
1. In a Mantra that gives detailed description of the Galaciatic core, it has been called "Atharva", i.e. motionless.
2. In "Vasukra Sukta" of the Rig Veda all the Galaxies are likened to trees fixed firmly to the ground.
3. The Rig Veda also describes it as "Agastya" which means "immovable collection".
The Stability of Galaciatic core (as explained in Yajur Veda) is due to holding fast the space energy by drawing it towards herself on all sides. The core is , as it were bound to the oceans of the space energy by innumerable strings in all direction. The tension is these invisible and intangible strings is without doubt the cause of core's gravitation. The core is hence embedded in the space-energy.
Therefore, all galaxies in the universe are in steady state.
