Masquerade Talents

Those vampires on Humanity or one of the appropriate Paths of Enlightenment may still use up to three (3) Masquerade traits with their expendatures of blood when they Masquerade.

NOTE: A Vampire with eight (8) or more Masquerade traits cannot easily be recognized as a vampire. In fact, so good is the deception, that mundane methods of Investigation, Medicine and Sniping will not break through the illusion of life. Only high levels of medical technology, the most adept of Hunters or supernatural means can reveal the truth of her being. Lupines can still sniff out the “wyrm” in those Kindred with low morality traits though.

Cost to Masquerade per scene
Vampires at Humanity Level 5  - 0 blood traits
Vampires at Humanity Level 4  - 1 blood traits
Vampires at Humanity Level 3  - 2 blood traits
Vampires at Humanity Level 2  - 3 blood traits
Vampires at Humanity Level 1  - 4 blood traits

NOTE:  Blood expenditures in order to Masquerade are still subject to Generational limits.
This Ability is only available to Vampires on the Paths of Humanity, Harmony & Heaven
Elder Vampires on the Road of Chivalry may Masquerade with HST approval.

These merits act as Masquerade Talents over and beyond the caps for talents granted by the Masquerade Ability traits

Blush of Health - 2pts.
Eat Food - 1pts.
Inoffensive to Animals - 1pt.
Sanctity - 2pts.
Specific Clan Based Merits (HST Approval) - cost varies

Humanity Level and Interaction with Mortals

Vampires at Humanity Level 5    no modifiers to social interactions
Vampires at Humanity Level 4    no modifiers to social interactions
Vampires at Humanity Level 3  - 1 social trait (except for Intimidation)
Vampires at Humanity Level 2  - 2 social traits (except for Intimidation)
Vampires at Humanity Level 1  - 3 social traits (except for Intimidation)

The loss of any level in Virtue Trait of Conscience results in the acquisition of the Negative Social Trait- Callous. Although this negative trait may not be readily noticeable to one’s  Kindred peers at Elysium, any Mortal or Ghoul with a Humanity of three or higher can and may bid it against the vampire in an appropriate Social Challenge.

Some Beast Traits and Derangements make interactions with Mortals difficult and mechanical at best, others make it impossible. Remember that the Beast is instinctual and base at all times ever pulling the Vampire towards madness and destruction. Mortals recognize these eerie manifestation of dark energies around such twisted souls, even if only on an instinctual level themselves. As such an Kinded with a Monsterous or Diabloic Beast Trait is considered to be down another -2 social traits when interacting with Morttals, this includes Ghouls (any), and Retainers.
