Under a Shooting Star
Farm All Kidding Aside Ride Information |
25/50
mile elevator - Competitive
Trail Ride The All Kidding Aside rides will again be held in
beautiful Paint Creek State Park.
Camp is primitive, with little shade. Horse and people
water is in camp. No electric at press time, but we've got our fingers
crossed. Picket lines are available at some sites. Electric corrals are
permitted, but you may be asked to keep them small if camp is crowded.
Donuts and coffee, tea, cocoa, etc will be served both mornings as well as
Saturday evening chili. Somebody remind me to put out the crackers this
year!
Luau this year!! Prizes for best Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt, and use of coconuts!!
Trails are over gently rolling hills with just a few
short, steep climbs. For you R&Ters, there are plenty of trees close
to the trails and a hitch rail at the bait shop.
Proof of negative Coggins test will be required for all
out-of-state horses. You are responsible for knowing the rules. A copy will be
available at the ride.
Awards will include completions for all riders finishing
the course. The open CTR will include 1-6 in three weight divisions and
juniors, Grand and Reserve Champion each day. Breed awards will go to best
arab, half-arab, best of the rest, and best horse-of-a-different-color,
the Dreamweaver Farm Gaited Horse Award, best sidesaddle rider award and
the North American Saddle Mule Association award to the best mule or
donkey. Novice awards will include 1-10 (or 20?), plus breed awards and
junior placings. Ride and Tie awards will include Best Condition, Top Ten,
Century team, last in, and whatever else you folks tell me I'm supposed to
give.
The CTR in sanctioned by OAATS. The Ride and Tie is
sanctioned by the R&T Association. For more info on rules, membership,
etc, check out their websites: www.oaats.org
