Welcome to the All Kidding Aside Competitive Trail Ride and Ride and Tie! The AKA offers a variety of distances over the gently rolling hills of western Ross County Ohio. There is something to offer everyone, from the novice rider trying his or her first competitive trail ride, to the seasoned competitor adding another 50 miles to the horse’s record.
Ride and Tie is a sport that is somewhat new to southern Ohio. It takes two people, one horse, and no experience in either running or riding! Three distances are offered for the beginning R&T’er up to the teams qualifying for the national championship R&T. Both the CTR and the R&T are sanctioned by OAATS. The Ride and Tie Association sanction the R&T. Many breed awards are offered, including Arabian, Half Arabian, Morgan, Horse-of-a-different-color, Best of the Rest, and Best Mule or Donkey. A sidesaddle award will also be given. You may print the ride flyer and entry form and mail your entry with payment or copy and paste it into an email. Payment may be made electronically by using Paypal. If you aren’t sure you are coming, at least let me know you are thinking about it so I can order enough food and completion awards for everyone. Don’t have a horse? We have plenty.
