PERSONAL IMPRESSIONS
Revenge is one of the major themes in this novel. Hamlet goes to seek revenge on his father’s death by killing Claudius. Laertes also tries to seek revenge on his fathers and his sister’s death by killing hamlet. Revenge definitely plays a big part in this book as well in society today.

Nowadays people are still trying to seek revenge one other people. Take 9/11 for instance. Bin Ladens associates crashed the airliners into the world trade center and into the pentagon killing thousands of people. Then weeks afterwards we went out to kill him and seek revenge. We bombed his country and shot his people. This to me is a form of revenge.

Another form of revenge in this day of age is giving the death penalty. When someone kills another person, then they might get the death penalty. This is one type of revenge for the family of the victim. They get to know that the killer can’t kill anyone else. The other part of the revenge is being able to watch the execution. This is very good help for the family.

Back in the times of Hamlet as well as in the year 2003 there are many forms of revenge.
