To believe, than to defend is other
To talk about's one thing, to do another

From a poem by
teacher Orhan Ari |
|
He had seen observation & experience needing to be coupled with
understanding & appreciation & the needed circumstance. A family's educating a son as Greek-Orthodox priest and another as a Turkish Moslem cleric, could not have had, at the appropriate time, these ~since they could speak only the language of the former & prided themselves as the latter -not only that family but that society itself -with few exceptions. Teacher Orhan Ari spoke on national days & religious -a campaign in Louridjina for any who felt could've their language spoken when spoke another to donate a penny'd helped...
In Paphos his activities -e.g. organising shows in national costumes,
in creating a social identity without ignorance of cultural values had secceeeded only when helped by such as his defence in 'Hursoz' of his female students in co-education against being branded 'whores'...
He was pleased that in Nicosia at absence of a gallery then a pupil
talented was allowed to exhibit his paintings in a place of worship. |
