Mt. St. Helena is located in the Coast Range of California, about 70 miles driving distance from Davis, at the north end of Napa Valley. It reaches an altitude of over 4300 ft., which is about 3000 ft. above the valley below. It is a beautiful pristine mountain area, with some decent rock to boot. It also makes for a great day hike, and the view from the top of the mountain is terrific.
Pictured below the panoramic shot is a climb at Bubble Crags (elevation ~3200 ft.) on Mt. St. Helena called Hueco Arete, but I call it Ants In Your Pants. It's a challenging 60-ft. 5.9-5.10ish route with numerous apartment-sized huecos, but don't be misled - it's quite exposed and mildly overhanging.
