Earthdawn

Earthdawn is set in the world of Barsaive, a fantastical place.  There are many kind of Name-Givers (races), from Trolls and Orcs to Elves and Humans.  There are a couple of stranger races also.  Windlings are little tiny balls of energy...kind of like your traditional pixie, but they talk even faster.  They have wings and stand about 18" tall at most.  T'Skrang are lizardmen...sorta.  They do with more panache what the Windlings do and are generally extremely flamboyant.  Obsidimen are rocks, literally.  They are born from rocks.  They look like rocks and are strong like rocks.  Not sure if they are smart like rocks.  Barsaive has recently emerged from the Scourge, the time when the Horrors walked the land.  These Horrors tried to corrupt everything they found, and succeeded in many things.  Most of the Name-Givers barricaded themselves in kaers to protect their lives, and even that didn't work all the time.

This is the first gaming system I used actually played.  No, I didn't play D&D until two years ago or so.  My friend Anne started a campaign to suck everyone farther into the world that is gaming.  Unfortunately, it had 10 people in it, 10 newbies no less, and was a complete mess.   Lots of fun, but too unwieldy.  We finally got the whole group together and then no one wanted to do the same thing.   We had about 5 sessions and then broke up.  Since then Kaejn Mrantis Vistramon, better known as Jae, has been wandering around in the company of F'thaka and Sika (two more T'Skrang), Vali (a Windling who has since vanished), and now Lia (an elf).  We managed to have everyone survive the last assault, and now are waiting to see what the insane leader of the town is going to do with what we brought her.
