Valdemar: Section 1

The Black Gryphon. Before Valdemar, before the Eastern Empire, there was a land. Urtho, the Mage of Silence, and Ma'ar contended for it: Urtho to protect and Ma'ar to possess. The only one standing in Ma'ar's way was Skandranon, the Black Gryphon.

The White Gryphon. The War is over. Ma'ar and Urtho are both dead, and the remains of Clan k'Leshya have traveled far from their devastated homeland to find a habitable site for a new home. They finally find one, and begin to make a home for themselves, despite magic being in chaos. Then one day ships appear on the horizon!

The Silver Gryphon. Magic has, for the most part, returned to normal. The city is prospering. The habitants are happy. And the children are restless. Skandranon's son wants adventure, so when he is chosen to create a new scout base out in the uncharted areas, he is thrilled. But what can you do when the magic suddenly disappears again?

The Last Herald Mage

Magic's Pawn. All Vanyel wanted in life was to be a Bard...to get the fame and fortune and not-so-incidentally the lovers. He found the lover in Tylendel, but being a Bard was forever out of his reach on the day he became a Herald-Mage.

Magic's Promise. Vanyel has been a Herald for ten years and has seen more action on the Karse border than most other Heralds combined. All he wants to do is go home, to his crazy family, and rest, but the border is heating up there, too. In the middle of the night he hears a mind in distress with no one else close enough to help. He rushes off right into the middle of a confrontation between two countries with an age-old enmity.

Magic's Price. Randale, the King of Valdemar, is dying. Vanyel tries to do all in his power to help, but to no avail. And suddenly, the Herald-Mages are dying off. Being killed, Vanyel imagines, but no one else believes. Vanyel goes off to destroy the threat to his kingdom, even though he fears he will not return.
