Just for fun, we put up this page to the incomplete manga! PQ Angels is a story that by miss Naoko Takeuchi, creator of Sailor Moon and The Cherry Project that began on September of 1997 in the girls' comic Nakayoshi. Unfortunately before it had a chance to become really popular, it suddenly stopped! The reason for this is that Kodansha, the publisher of Nakayoshi, lost one of her chapters. There are a few rumours floating about on what happened afterwards that caused her not to write any more:
For one, it takes a long, long time to draw these chapters and a lot of work. And often the work is spontaneous, so if lost it can't be exactly reproduced. Having a manga artist among the management of Clockwork Blue, we understand that in most cases, after working so hard and having your work lost, you abandon the project and not try that same thing again. On the other hand, Takeuchi most certainly didn't work alone.
Also, while losing the work, she's far rich enough. She could have just gotten bored with it.
They also say there was a big fight between Kodansha and Takeuchi. Takeuchi left Kodansha, but they still owned the rights so she couldn't draw the same story elsewhere.
Whatever the case, it was cute while it lasted but kind of the same-old same-old for Takeuchi. It also irritates us that the websites created always compare PQ Angels to Sailor Moon. Once or twice would be nice, but I mean ALWAYS. So we're not doing that.
In the story PQ angels, two hot babes from space come down to Earth to learn about the humans. They can change into little bugs by kissing someone, or vice-versa. They move in next door to a boy, who is inevitably suspicious of the strange activities going on there.
The girl with green hair is Q-ko. She's elegant and serious, exactly opposite from her partner, the adorable and enthusiastic redhead P-ko.
The girls come from a planet called Fuiren, a Japanese pun (since the kanji, or Chinese character for those sounds, is cockroach) since the girls can change into cockroaches. The girls have three rules and three guidelines. The rules are
(1) You must not hurt a human.
(2) You must protect yourself and your friends.
(3) You must not fall in love with a human.
And the guidelines are:
(1) Don't involve humans more than necessary
(2) Don't reveal information
(3) Protect the honour of Fuiren
Though the story never really developed, we know only that they were the highest bodyguards of their queen, Anko of Fujiyama Castle. If they were the most important guardians, why did they send them away....? The enemies were to be the Jochigiku, but why...? The point is, the story could have been cute, and had the potentiality to become a great anime, as well, but nope, there isn't any more. Perhaps one day in her spare time, our manga artist miss Ozura Haruka will think about continuing the story for miss Takeuchi. Maybe not.
