Our current legislative goals are as
follows:
Creating bills to:
Allow reimbursement for expenses within the current year, not the 2 year lag that currently exists within the Special Ed funding.
Allow for 3% inflationary increase to the basic formula annually. The SPI ( School Price Index) rises faster than the PI ( Consumer Price Index) 3% would allow for some catch up over the past several years
Allow school districts to deny fulfilling mandates if funding for that mandate is not provided.
4) Creative financing with new buildings in the area, something similar to a park fee.
