otsoak askatasunaren haritzaren ganean agertzen dira. Ez dago oraindino
gurutzerik arbolan. Labayrun
arabera hau da Bizkaiko benetako ikurra eta XV mendetik XVII azkenaldirate
erabiliko zan. ESCUDO
DEL SEÑORÍO DE VIZCAYA EN LA PRIMERA EDICIÓN DEL FUERO NUEVO (1528) Los lobos de los Haro aparecen
sobre el roble de las libertades. Aún no hay cruz sobre el árbol. En
opinión de Labayru este es el genuino escudo de Vizcaya utilizado desde el

NEW FUERO (1528) The wolves of the Haro appear on the oak of the

Sobre el roble aparece la cruz. El escudo aparece,
la mayoría de las veces, sujeto por un león.
