CHEMOTHERAPY

Hydatiform molar pregnancy:
  After a D&C patients are followed with weekly Beta Human Gonadatrophin Hor            mone (HCG) levels. If the levels should rise chemotherapy may be started.

Invasive molar pregnancy:
  After a D&C this is usually treated with weekly single drug chemotherapy.

Choriocarinoma:
This is treated with chemotherapy a multi drug regime which consist of many
many weeks of treatment until the HCG returns to normal

SURGERY:
  Hysterectomy is performed when GTD is persistent even after multiple chemotherapy treatments,or if fertility is not an issue or if vaginal bleeding becomes life threatening and it cannot be controlled.


RADIATION:
  May be performed where there is evidence of the tumor spreading to the brain (but this is very rare!).
