If you're looking for ESL jobs around the world you can check these two sites out. Its hard to belive they both used to have as many international job listings as Daves but despite being free for schools they mostly advertise on Daves these days because thats where all the job seekers are.

Teaching English in Taiwan by Hall Houston
Considering Taiwan? These are the best places to do your research. The first is the most comprehensive site on living and teaching English in Taiwan. The second is by someone who wrote a book about Taiwan and there are some great articles online plus a good FAQ. The third gives a quick and easy account. The last has links to hostels in Taipei for a place to stay until you line up an apartment. Also don't forget to check out the letters on the Job Information Journal at Daves.
This site only has a few of the classified ads online but you can subscribe from overseas if you want to try lining up something before you come over. Most jobs in Taiwan (as in most countries, Korea being the main exception) are advertised locally through the papers or agents rather than on purely internet job sites.

Thinking of trying out Japan? Look no further. These sites are where all the Japanese ESL jobs are advertised esp the latter site (many times bigger than Daves for jobs in Japan).

The first link has a good Japan specific discussion forum. If you have any questions ask here. The second site is dedicated to teachers teaching in Japan with lodes of info, a very good discussion forum, a job site, and all the latest gossip on the JET program etc.

Map of Korea at Travel Korea. Also has a list of Korean Universities with home pages. So if you want to apply for a job direct (the best Korean uni jobs are often never advertised) this is a good place to start. Firefox has a map with more cities listed and some general info about Korea.

Bangkok Post
Feeling the call of the exotic Kingdom? These sites are the best places to look. Ajarn has several times more job listings than Daves and it has the largest Thai ESL forum on the web. Stickmans site has an superb guide to living in the Kingdom and FAQ (on the ESL scene as well as the notorious Bangkok!) and also theres research of the different schools with a comparative pay etc analysis. Last but not least the Bangkok post has by far the most job postings of any web site.
Want to travel to some exotic country but can't find any ESL jobs advertised there? Try this site. It has listings for the thousands of volunteer programs around the world including teaching English.
The travel the world for free ticket. Search for the school nearest you and go for it. There are many similar courses but this is the one that employers usually ask for. Don't let the fact that its British put you off. Its the equivalent of the greenback in the international ESL scene.

Post a lot on forums but can't spell for ####? This could save your lif.
A superb site for expats. Find the consulate you want nearest you. Has a complete directory of the worlds embassies/consulates whether they're on the Web or not (unfortunately not all the consulate links appear to be active). Find visa requirements regardless of where you are coming from. Also find phone numbers, different countries voltages and plug types before you go. Volunteer programs from around the world. Has links to ex-pat sites from around the world etc etc.
Another less comprehensive consulate site but worth a try if the links arn't up on the previous site.
Curious about Singapore? This is the best entry point with a great guide and links to Singapores Straits Times Classifieds for jobs. Like most countries schools in Singapore mostly advertise locally rather than through international forums like Daves Cafe.

Looking for the international schools? The first has the best list for Japan. The other three cover the whole world. ECIS has both member and non member schools listed and also has job adverts for the member schools (which look for certified teachers).
Saigon Notes has the best ESl site dedicated to Vietnam on the web.
Totally HK
The SCMP has classified ads for jobs in Hong Kong. Most of them will recruit locally but it gives you an idea of whats available in this little dragon. The second is a great site with info on living and working in HK.

The best search engines and heres why! Google is by far my favorite and the one I use 90% of the time. Its the original and best "popularity" based system and gives the most relevant results of any search engine (powers Yahoos web searchs outside Yahoos directory ). Search Engine Colossus has a list of specialist seach engines and portals for different countries around the world.
Find a place to stay for you first few weeks before lining up an apartment. Actually its not very comprehensive so you might want to invest in a Lonely Planet.

The first site has info on visas, tourist info, photos, the rail system and maps.You can try the second site if what you're after isn't on the first.
A fairly in depth account but the link appears to be down.
Has good general info on housing and visas in Taiwan and also a bulletin board. The disoriented section has some amusing anecdotes.
