What's troubling you lately, mom?
Is is the fact that your children are left yet again at the daycare
center, breaking your heart? Or is it the "other" fact?
The fact that they keep getting sick from the myriad of
diseases that daycares harbor? Perhaps you struggle like so many
parents with the arrangements of who will pick them up and care for
them after the school day is over? Maybe it is one of
these or maybe none at all; you may just want to spend more quality
AND quantity time with your children. Either way you answer,
you're not alone.
Many of us wondered at one point or
another whether it would be possible for us to stay at home with our
children; to watch them grow into young adulthood, which
comes so fast. Some have taken that leap of faith and have gone home
to care for the kids, choosing to look beyond their new one-salary-a-year
income. But, can this be done?
As a stay at home mom, I know that
what keeps me going are the sights and sounds of my darling
daughter, our angel. Yes, I have wanted to jump again head first
into the workforce. When I'm swamped by feelings of "we can't
buy this, we can't buy that". Sure, it would solve some of our
financial 'situations', but, truthfully, have we lacked anything?
Have we starved through the night? Have we gone a whole year
without enjoying a special vacation to say.. Disney? Some of us
have, (hopefully not the starve one) and lived through it.
So what if we can't enjoy the latest
movies, or a brand new and very delicate pair of leather pumps. You
can rent the movies later, it's the same movie at half the price
(plus you can hit the pause button) and heels? Who needs heels when
they're so bad for your back! The sweet
cheeks we kiss good night and the warm hugs we get from
our babies are well worth the effort and the small sacrifice. I
have come to rely on God for all our family needs. I have
to admit I was sometimes skeptical we would get ahead in life.
But through it all, He stood by us and fulfilled His promise
to never leave us nor forsake us. My husband & I have been truly
blessed these past few years. Between his awesome bonuses each
spring (he's in Insurance) and my additional income from
hobbies-turned-cash, we have been doing just fine.
Let me just say that entrusting our
problems in God's hands has truly blessed us. I am a big fan of prayer,
prayer works miracles, although I don't do it as often as I
should...but when I do, boy it feels wonderful to know a much wiser
One is listening and guiding my every step. Our Savior
is just waiting for us to come to Him with our cares and
concerns.
Some
people enjoy doing other things and they find their niche along the
way. You may want to read an article related to working

Good luck in your endeavors. Remember
to entrust in God all your worries for a sweeter life.
