Dead Sea Black Mud has the following typical analysis when taken from the Dead Sea Bed:

When the Black Mud is sterilized, it is added to it about 10% kaolin and 2% glycerine.
Black mud is a very soft material with grain size less than one micron.

Mud

Mud is sold in three shapes:

1.

As Is

:

Which means as it is taken from the Dead Sea floor, filled in drums and dispatched
to the customers.

2.

Screened

:

The above mud is passed through a screen to remove any debris or foreign material,
such as stones, woods, ...etc.

3.

Sterilized

:

Same mud as above, is sterilized by heating to 80 deg. Centigrade, then added to it
minor quantities of:

Kaolin

:

Which is also a natural product, to give it a creamy touch, and
homogenized shape.

Glycerin

:

To give a moisturizing effect, and scent, to give a nice odour.

Addition of the scent is optional according to customer's request.

Sterilized Mud is ready for application to human body. Screened Mud could be also applied to human
skin. In our country, Jordanians and tourists from all parts of the world use the As Is while on the
shores of the Dead Sea, no harms have been encountered. The Sterilized and Screened types, are
more refined for export purposes.

Natural herbs, natural oils and honey could be added for certain uses.

Uses of Dead Sea Black Mud - for face, body and hair:
This mud is a blend of Dead Sea minerals and organic material formed over thousands of
years on the Dead Sea bed. This unique product of nature is rich in Magnesium, Potassium,
Calcium and Bromide. It replenishes those skin minerals essential for renewal and
regeneration while removing toxins and dead cells with an exfoliating action.
Its cleansing properties purify, revitalize and firm skin tissues giving a brighter complexion.
Black mud also stimulates blood and lymph circulation; increasing oxygen intake and
draining trapped fluids. It is therefore effective in treating cellulite and in alleviating arthritic
and rheumatic conditions. As a face mask it cleanses, purifies, revitalizes the skin tissue, it
improves acne scars and the overall complexion.

Mud application:

Face

:

Apply a thin layer to thoroughly cleansed face and neck, avoiding the eye
contour area and mouth. Leave for approximately 15 - 20 minutes, remove
with warm water, rinse face with cold water to seal pores, do not use soap.

Body

:

This mud is ideal for easing joint pains and purifying the skin. Apply a thick
layer (2 - 3 mm) onto skin for cellulite and rough areas, splash skin. Apply a
thick layer of mud to the specific problem area, then wrap with linen cloth or
foil paper and leave to dry. Rinse off with water.

Hair and Scalp

:

It helps removing dandruff and excessive hair oiliness while strengthening hair
roots. Apply a sufficient amount to scalp and massage for 2 - 3 minutes. Rinse
with clear warm water and complete the treatment with the proper shampoo
and conditioner.
