Stupid Peikko Saves Christmas

Story by Webmaster Etelämäki

Glory be Ruddie ! I think I hear something in the distance. It was something or someone running through the forest. Santa and Rudolf stopped and peered into the distance to see who or what it might be. They hoped it was Donner and the others with Santa's Sleigh.

After a few moments, they could each see a small little figure in the distance. What is it Ruddie ? My eyes are failing me ! Its a person I think, said Rudolf. But whoever it is, is quite small. Maybe an Elf or a Gnome.

Before Santa or Ruddie could make out the strange wanderer in the distance, out popped a little figure of a man right in front of them. He stood there brushing the snow from his green cloak and said not one word to either of them.

Aho !!! Cried Santa !!! Ho Ho Ho !!! Ho Ho Ho !!! Why its Cousin Peikko !!! Aho Peikko !!!

Stupid Peikko - Santa's Cousin

Aho Santa ! Said Peikko, as he grabbed onto Santa's leg. My Dear Santa, I haven't seen you in years !!! Did you walk all this way just to see me? asked Peikko. Please, come back to my tupa and warm yourselves and we shall have a fine visit, a very fine visit indeed!

I'd love to visit with you Dear Cousin, said Santa. But I have a very big problem. You see its Christmas Eve and we've lost our way and our sleigh, our reindeer and our presents.

Never mind the details Santa ! There will be plenty of time for that over a cup of Hot Java. We'll visit and drink Coffee ! and then find your sleigh. Peikko was never keen on the Christmas ideas of his dear Cousin Santa anyway. So... Christmas could wait... at least for a cup of coffee and a good visit.
