  • Chad Taylor is born in York-PA(24th) .

MAY 1971___>

  • Patrick Dahlheimer is born in York-PA(30th) .

JULY 1971___>

  • Edward Kowalczyk is born in York PA(16th) .
  • Chad Gracey is born in York PA(23th) .

1985___>

  • Chad Gracey, Patrick Dahlheimer and Chad Taylor meet in middle school .

1986___>

  • Chad G. , Patrick and Chad T. form a band called First Aid and win a school talent show, but later they lose a televised talent show called Great York Talent Hunt .
  • They invited Edward Kowalczyk to sing with them. Now the quartet is called Public Affection .

1989___>

  • Public Affection plays gigs at Chameleon Club in Lancaster-PA .

JUNE 1989___>

  • The four guys graduate from William Penn Senior High School . They skip out on college to stick with their music.Death of a Dictionary, their first album is released on their own label .

OCT 1989___>

  • The four lads play their first show at CBGB's in New York .

SEPT 1990___>

  • The band lose the Best of the Bands contest in York .

JAN 1991___>

  • The band finally signs a major label contract with Radioactive Records .

MARCH 1991___>

  • Gary Kurfirst introduces the band to Jerry Harrison . The band and the producer Jerry Harrison starts recording Mental Jewelry .

JUNE 1991___>

  • The four guys decided to change the band's name . Now they finally become LIVE .

SEPT 1991___>

  • Operation Spirit, the first single, is released ; the video immediately enters MTV's Buzz Bin
  • It goes to #1 on CMJ's College Cuts chart .

DEC 31th 1991___>

  • LIVE releases their major label debut album Mental Jewelry .

JAN 1992___>

  • Mental Jewelry, wich debuts at #200 on the Billboard albums chart and in a matter of two weeks, it rises to #73.

FEB 1992___>

  • Tour U.S. as part of MTV's 120 Minutes with Public Image Limited, Big Audio Dynamite and Blind Melon.

AUG 1992___>

  • LIVE wraps up a world tour that featured stops in Japan, Europe, Australia and South America.

MARCH 1994___>

  • Selling The Drama , the first single from the band's forthcoming album, Throwing Copper, is released and goes to #1 on both Billboard's "Modern Rock Tracks" and CMJ's "College Cuts" charts.

APRIL 1994___>

  • Throwing Copper is released . It goes on to become one of the longest running albums on CMJ's "Album" chart (51 weeks).

JULY 1994___>

  • Embark on WOMAD Tour with Peter Gabriel , Midnight Oil and Arrested Development .

AUG 1994___>

  • LIVE plays at Woodstock '94 .

JAN 1995___>

  • Lightning Crashes , the third single off Throwing Copper , is released and reaches #1 on Billboard . Its video becomes a MTV Buzz Clip .

FEB 1995___>

  • Perform in MTV Unplugged . The show is repeatedly aired and featured as one of MTV's Best Unplugged .

APRIL 1995___>

  • Throwing Copper reaches #1 on Billboard's Album chart This album is certified double platinum (seven times platinum in the U.S. and 7 times in Australia and Canada .

JUNE 1995___>

  • European Tour, including performances at several festivals , such as Holland's Pink Pop Festival .
  • LIVE appears on the cover of SPIN .

SEPT 1995___>

  • Conclusion of Throwing Copper Tour (18 months , 252 shows).

DEC 1995___>

  • LIVE is voted as 1995's Rock Artist Of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards .

JAN 1996___>

  • LIVE appears on the cover of Rolling Stone as Reader's Poll winners for "Artist Of The Year"

APRIL 1996___>

  • The band works on recording of Secret Samadhi .

FEB 1997___>

  • Secret Samadhi , the third album , is released and debuts at #1 on Billboard . The saturday before the release , LIVE appears as a special musical guest on Saturday Night Live .

MARCH 1997___>

  • U.S./Canadian Tour .

MARCH 1998___>

  • LIVE plays for the Tibet House Benefit and The Reebok Human Rights Awareness Ceremony .

JUNE 1998___>

  • LIVE plays out new songs as a warm up for The Tibetan Freedom Festival .

AUG 1998___>

  • LIVE starts to begin work on their fourth album .

JUNE 1999___>

  • LIVE travels the american and European festival circuit playing their new songs at shows like The Tibetan Freedom Festival and Woodstock '99 .
  • LIVE Also performed for VH-1's "Hard Rock Live", taped in Manhattan .

AUG 1999___>

  • The Dolphin's Cry , the first single from the new album is released and a video followed .

OCT 05th , 1999___>

  • The Distance To Here , the band's fourth album , is released .

DEC 1999___>

  • LIVE performed on the Rockpalast Christmas Special in Dusseldorf, Germany .

JAN 2000___>

  • LIVE appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien .

FEB 2000___>

  • LIVE appeared on Howard Stern Birthday Show

MARCH 2000___>

  • Run To The Water's video enters on MTV's 120 Minutes

APRIL 2000___>

  • LIVE is the winner for Best International Artist at the Edison Awards -Germany (10th) .
  • The guys also won for Best International Band and Best International Video for "The Dolphin's Cry" at TMF Awards (Dutch MTV)
  • LIVE performed on The Late Show with David Letterman .(25th)

    JUNE 2000___>

    • " They Stood Up For Love " video debuted.
    • LIVE performed at Rock am Ring , Rock im Park and Pinkpop festivals .
    • LIVE performed an unplugged section for 5 FM (South Africa's largest national radio station).

    JULY 2000___>

    • Summer Tour with Counting Crows (tour concludes on October 28th at the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans ). ">
    • The Distance To Here has gone platinum in Belgium, approaching platinum in South Africa and double platinum in Holland .

    • The band works on demos for the new album.
