To the Death of a Friend

BY Derek Rempfer

Don’t you go condemn Denial
‘Cause Denial’s been a friend.
Denial lets me sleep at night
On Denial I depend.

Without my friend to lean upon
I’d never laugh or smile.
No other gives me such support
I need my friend Denial.

He cloaks me in that mask I wear
All others to beguile
That face you see that shows no pain
Belongs to sweet Denial.

For when the hurt’s so much I cannot bear
And this world I revile
He takes my hand and comforts me
And I hold on to Denial.

So I thank you friend for being there
As I walk this weary mile
That leads me to my son in Heaven
And your death dear friend Denial.

Please visit Ethan's page and read the words I have written for him. Look at the horrible pictures, but see the real beauty. And sign the guestbook, even if just to say "I'm sorry for your loss." Every signature is a little prayer that lifts Ethan higher and mitigates our pain a little. Lifting Ethan
