A small landing party is sent out to Bassla, among which are you and Raidly. You land uneventfully, and step out to stretch your legs. You are on a long, narrow beach. The sand beneath your feet is fine, soft, and slightly damp. You imagine it would make wonderful castle-building material.
Only a few feet up the shore, shoots of grass begin to poke their heads up among the sand. They grow in number farther out, until they form a thick carpet of green, entirely covering the flat land layed out before you. Off in the distance to the north, you can make out the hazy forms of jagged mountain peaks. Not far to the south-west you can see a small village. Directly south, a winding row of trees mark what is probably a river. Straight ahead of you, though, is a large band of people.
