VITALS:

I am the eldest child, born September 23 which makes me a Libra (American) & a Tiger (Chinese). Fun loving, outgoing, and multi-talented with a wacky sense of humor. Because of this wacky way I've been nicknamed "Taz" after the Warner Bros Cartoon character the Tasmanian Devil.

ACTIVITIES:

On a trip to Portland, Oregon I decided to try hiking. Standing on the side of Mt. Hood looking out over the land started something and now every place I go I try to find a hiking trail. My guy is an avid runner so I've recently also started to learn how to run, but we do more hiking than we do running (to his disappointment sometimes) but still running can be fun.

My current creative interest is Graphic and Web Design.  I've stumbled onto this mostly by association and need.  After a couple of months, some great books and many, many late nights here I am, able to combine these skills pretty decently. I've currently started a NYC support group named Asian Black Communities (ABC) for other asian black couple and families where they can gather, get support and advice or just find friends.

I've volunteered with the New York City Dept for the Aging (NYCDA), the ASPCA and the NYC Parks Dept. I think volunteering is a great way to give back to our community and I've meet some great people over the years.

INTERESTS:

I'm an avid reader, favorite being science fiction books. Some favorites are Mind of My Mind by Octavia Butler , Earth Hive - Aliens, Book 1 by Steven Perry and Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui which has done wonders for my apartment and work area.

I'm also a bit of a couch potato when I can steal the time. Favorite shows include anything having to do with Star Trek, in fact most things scientific for that matter. Cartoons of most sort but I like strong story lines and graphics like Batman Beyond & Beast Machines. Comedies like Saturday Night Live, Mad TV & For Your Love.

Learn More About Runner

HISTORY:

I'm not quite an FOB, but certainly not an ABC. I'm somewhere in the middle. Chinese is my first tongue, although English has pretty much become my main language. I can understand three Chinese dialects including Cantonese and Mandarin. I grew up on Long Island, attending HS and College there. It's really not such a bad place, honestly! I'm one of two children in my family, with an older sister and two nephews.

INTERESTS:

Some of the things that I enjoy are: reading sci-fi, watching cartoons and most sci-fi shows, movies, video games, SPADES!, running, photography, roller-blading, hiking,...the list is pretty long. Suffice it to say that I enjoy most things Sci-Fi, outdoors, and electronically inclined. :)

WHAT'S GOING ON NOW:

I am currently a HS Math Teacher on Long Island. Teaching is something that I find quite enjoyable. Granted it is not for everybody, but most things rarely are. My students are wonderful, yes, even the so called "bad ones". I am also currently attending classes towards my masters degree

I am have my best friend Taz. She is a gem that I stumbled upon quite by chance. We have our differences, however we have even more commonalities. I have bestowed upon her an Honorary Degree in "Chinese-ness".  In kind, she has given me an Honorary "Black-ness" Degree. I'll tell you right now that it's tough balancing work, school, and Taz.
