How does war effect mixed blooded individuals?

Is the Eurasian culture the outcome of cruel Invasions? Perhaps two cultures colliding is always a difficult situation for both sides. I was watching a very interesting movie called, "Message to Nam." The movies setting was during the Vietnam War, although the story was from an American's perspective. The movie does portray the fact how Eurasian babies were abandoned, or left to die during the Vietnam War. Many American soldiers found Vietnamese women, or perhaps worse, the soldiers rape local Vietnamese women. One result from the war in Vietnam, were the many children of American and Vietnamese parentage. The Eurasian victims in the war, were not accepted by most locals. Most of the abandoned children were in crowded orphanages or starving on the street. Only few babies were adopted by citizens living in America.

It seems wherever a European colony formed, a new mixed culture would evolve. My father told me about a lovely book he was reading called, "White Butterflies." The story is about the life of an Anglo-Burmese Indian boy during the British occupation of India. When India was under British rule, many British men married Indian women. The 'half English and half Indian' children were called, "Anglo Indians." Infact, the term Eurasian was started in India when their were many Anglo Indians. Unlike the abandonment in Vietnam, Anglo Indians were treated as a more high society. Most of the Eurasians in India, became scholars and they lived better off than most Indians. Currently, you can see the appreciation of Eurasians, more than half of India's bollywood film industry consisted of Anglo Indians.
