Below is our cat Milou; she likes receiving e-mail, especially if you enclose a bird or some cat food for her. |
Maggie is a sweet dog and loves biscuits and petting. |
| Fall/Winter 1998: Well, fall and winter are really not as exciting as summer, except for Christmas! This year our gifts to the pets were: All-natural holiday dog treats for Maggie and an igloo bed for Milou, which she really loves. She likes to sometimes sit in it, with her head sticking out of the hole. How cute! |

Summer 1998:
This summer Maggie got to go on a lot of camping trips with us. Two of the trips were extended ones, three-day weekends for the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Milou got to go with us on one trip to a favorite spot, Poudre Canyon. She learned to walk on a leash during this trip. She gave us a scare one night when she learned how to open the tent and sneaked out. You can be sure that we kept a good eye, a very good eye, on her after that! The rest of the time we were at our spot at a Meadow Lake Reservoir, where Maggie loves to swim! Maggie also got to go along to camp at Strawberry Fields Hot Springs, in Steamboat Springs, with us and our good friends Jeff and Theresa. Besides camping, Maggie got to go on a lot of hikes. She did really well, even on the most difficult of hikes where we went for a full day! Yay, Maggie! |

Spring '98:
Maggie celebrated her tenth birthday on Saturday, April 4th, 1998. She got five small meals and four walks. She also got lots of love, but that happens most every day. The next day she awoke all ready for more. Anyway, she's looking, acting, and feeling great! Milou turned five in mid-March. She still loves us, and even lets Laura brush her teeth. However, she'd rather be raiding the kitchen trash, eating tuna, or drinking milk...or getting a new toy from the Cat Show that was in town Easter weekend (love that peacock feather)! |
| Fall '97: Maggie is recovering wonderfully from her cancer surgery and enjoys running in the snow when there is some on the ground. Milou, on the other hand, despises snow and becomes mischievous when she can't go outside. She flips the kitchen trash can upside down, gets into the food, etc. but she is a darling. Both pets probably miss the summer and camping! |

Summer '97: Both pets went camping this summer with Laura and Alexander.
Maggie has had a very scary September. An ongoing health problem was diagnosed as cancer of the colon, and she underwent emergency surgery. Now she has a semicolon. The operation was successful and Maggie is recovering nicely. She is living, wagging proof that love conquers all.
Milou likes to go for rides in the car, especially when the car is going to Popeye's Chicken. But any destination is OK with her. Lately she has been hinting that in cat years she's old enough for a driver's license. |
