Husband and wife authors Maynard Knepp and Carol Duerksen share their farm between Goessel and Hillsboro, Kansas, with exchange students and a variety of animals. Maynard grew up Amish near Yoder, Kansas, and works with a tree care business.
After Maynard is done climbing, cutting, trimming and spraying trees, he puts his endless energy into water skiing, snow skiing, gardening and officiating basketball games. Next to his boat, his most valuable possession is a personalized, autographed book: Two Guys, Four Corners by Fred and Don Imus.
Carol is a full-time freelance writer and marketer. She edits With, a Christian youth magazine, and writes Sunday School curriculum and devotional materials. Carol's passions include, chocolate labs, llamas and Winnie the Pooh.
Maynard and Carol decided years ago not to "do diapers", and have put their love and energy into the young people at Tabor Mennonite Church near Goessel, Kansas; and into exchange students with American Intercultural Student Exchange.
