The Jonas Series was the brainchild of Maynard Knepp, a popular speaker on the Amish culture, who grew up in an Amish family in central Kansas.  This series portrays the Amish as people who face many of the same decisions, joys and sorrows as everyone else, as well as those that are unique to their culture and traditions.  Written in an easy-to-read style that appeals to a wide range of ages and diverse reader base -- from elementary age children to folks in their 90s, from dairy farmers to PhD's -- fans of the Jonas Series are calling it captivating, intriguing, can't-put-it-down reading.

Book 1 ~ Runaway Buggy ~ This book sweeps the reader into the world of an Amish youth trying to find his way "home".  Meet Jonas as a teenager, coming of age as he's torn between two conflicting worlds, two ways of life, and deeply attracted to two very different young women.
Book 2 ~ Hitched ~ Struggle with Jonas as he searches for the meaning of Christianity, and feel his bewilderment when he recognizes that just as there are Christians who are not Amish, likely there are Amish who are not Christians.  Feel his pain when a Kansas tornado unleashes its fury in the community, and rejoice with Jonas on his wedding day.
Book 3 ~ Preacher ~ Join the race as you run with the ever deepening saga of Jonas Bontrager, who is now a father of three and proud owner of Preacher ~ a horse whose destiny challenges Jonas' faith and whose ownership threatens to pull him into the forbidden worldly thrill of the racetrack.
Book 4 ~Becca ~ Jonas is now the father of a 16 year old daughter himself -- a daughter who asks the same questions her father did, but in her own fresh and surprising ways.  Watch Becca as she blossoms in the sun and soil of her newfound freedom as a teenager, and as she leaves her family in Kansas for the first time.
