Millwright Benefit Plans - Ontario
The Trustees of the Millwright Benefit Trust Funds are pleased to announce the following benefit
improvements effective january l,1998.
The monthly Long Term Disability benefit payable has increased from $1,300 to $1,600
effective January l,1998. Eligible members who are disabled on or after
will receive the maximum of $1,600 per month.
The amount of LTD payable to a totally disabled member takes into account the disability
income that you receive from WCB and CPP or any other plan or program that provides
disability income. Refer to your member booklet for more details.
Effective January 1, 1998, all LTD recipients will receive their monthly benefit in two
instalments during each month. Maritime Life is in the process of making this change and
has advised that this will be in place on or before March 1,1998. They have advised that
each LTD recipient will receive one-half of the monthly amount payable on the l5th of
each month and the other half on the 30th of each month.
Reminder - Managed Drug Program - Generic Drugs
Did you know that every generic drug in Canada has the same active ingredient(s) as the more
expensive brand name equivalent. Your pharmacist can tell you if there is a generic form of the
drug that has been prescribed for you. please refer to the details of your Managed Drug program
in your member booklet.
