Neurotic
- my eyes wander to the door
- that knocks in the wind
- tapping into
- a vision of Sunday's
- sunny afternoon
- returning too soon
- to a gray "hey" day in Maine
- Driving aimlessly
- an arc crescent moon
- crests the horizon
- creeps wordlessly in
- with zeal I'd almost forgotten
- seething for something,
- self seeking,
- howling out codes
- no one knows
- the past I have not dealt with
- clamoring up the narrow
- staircase as my
- eyes graze gray paint
- on the floor,
- newly lit with
- lightbulbs bought at
- Walmart
- cannibals, we eat the food
- of other's ambivalence,
- eyes glint,
- costs only a half pence
- compared to one's own price
- eyes glint,
- tranparently beastly
- in the slanting light reflected
- on the yellowed walls
- toothpaste used to brush
- leaves more plaque behind
- than it takes away,
- That which was meant to show love
- causes pain
- Wilted, I could grow
- if I watered
- Broken I could be,
- I am shattered
- watch the pieces spread
- like sticks and stones
- gliding over ice
- on Donnell's pond
- Aim to impress
- distress and confession
- that impress I did not
- Aim to live
- and confess that
- live I did not
- Maybe I should aim not
- but pick up the pieces
- of starshine flanking cries
- of I want, and I am,
- clamoring at my
- feet
- I impress myself through you.
