Far on the west coast of Greece lie the Ionian islands of Korfu, Paxoi, Leykada, Ithaki, Kefalonia, and Zakynthos. The best known of these island is Korfu which lies at the entrance to the Adriatic Sea. Korfu is the most northern, and second largest after Cephalonia of the Ionian islands.
