Chapter 3

"Allissa, I heard you had quiet a time backstage at that awards show the other night." Harper greet Allissa as she came in the door of the coffee shop two mornings later.
Allissa had gone back to her usual ways.  She was quiet, and shy and unsure again "Yeah, I had fun." she replied.
"Well, you didn't set a good example for this company." Harper warned, "Sources say you got drunk."
Allissa rolled her eyes, "I had a great time is all." she replied, "Why can't I have a good time?"
"You were supposed to go and represent this company.  You were supposed to be civilized and I see that you can't handle being civilized."
       "So what are you saying?"
"I'm going to have to fire you." he said.
Allissa looked horrified for a second, before the person she had found at the awards show came out in her, "Fine!" she said raising her voice, "You hired me because you thought I would be easy to trample all over!  But you know what! You were wrong, I'm finally finding out who I am and you can't stand it because you know you may not be able to take advantage of me anymore!  So fine! This stupid coffee shop is going down the drain anyway and I'm glad I wont' be here to see it go.  So I'm glad I'm going! Goodbye Mr. Harper." Allissa had yelled this last bit and felt horrible after her bit of rage.  She turned red and walked out of the shop.  Her feet stomped the cement harder than they should.  She clutched the new book she was reading close to her chest.  Her brown hair bounced with every step of rage.
"Hey, Allissa." a hand grabbed her arm and pulled her to a hault, "What's wrong?" It was Hayden.
Allissa looked at Hayden with her stormy brown eyes.  She didn't reply.  She felt too bad about yelling and making a complete idiot of herself.
"I was just on my way to the coffee shop to see you.  Are you not working today?"
"Not today, or tomorrow or ever again." she finally said, "The old bastard fired me!"
"What? Why?" Hayden stood in front of her name gazing at her with his gorgeous eyes.
She barley knew this man, but yet she wanted to open up and tell him everything.  But she refrained.  He didn't deserve to know everything.  He was the reason she had gotten fired.  He made her get drunk.  He made her have a good time, "Because I didn't set a good example for the company the other night backstage."
Hayden dropped his head and then looked back at her, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I"m fine.  It's not problem finding another job.  But I was perfectly content at the coffee shop." she felt tears stream down her face, "I got to have a free moccha when I got to go home."
Hayden brushed away her tears with his thumb, "Come on lets go to the park and talk." he said softley.
"I don't want to talk.  I want to go home and see my dog." she said, "That's who I always talk too." Okay now she sounded crazy.
"Allissa...talk to me.  I can answer back." he sort of smiled at his little joke
"It's not funny." she pulled herself out of his grip and pouted like a little child.
"Sorry." he said, "Come on lets talk please?  I really want to know you Allissa.  I like you a lot."
       "You're just saying that."
"No, Allissa, I mean it.  And I think you like me too...you're just hard headed." he tapped her head softley and smirked.
"Boy you sure know how to charm a lady." she replied.
"Allissa being totally honest with you.  Just give me a chance.  Please."
Allissa looked up into his eyes and gave in.  No one could resist those eyes of his.  She relaxed and took his hand that he was holding out to her, "Okay." she said softley.
       Hayden smiled, "I promise I don't bite."
Allissa chuckled, "Yeah, but I do."
"Go right ahead.  I won't mind."
Allissa just smiled as they made their way toward the park hand in hand.
