ASHWYN

Ashwyn at Age 2 Years

Ashwyn is a bay Hanoverian gelding, hidden in the mountains of west-central PA. He and his brother, Azmar, have been our best foals so far. Ashwyn has excellent conformation and is the elegant, refined, modern type.  He was imprint-trained at birth and has a wonderful disposition and attitude.

Ashwyn is a wonderful mover. His pedigree is top-notch.  He is handled twice daily and has no vices.

Ashwyn is 16.3hh as a 2 year-old. Ashwyn is intelligent and easy to get along with. We feel that there is a good chance that he will end up being 17hh or more, since his 4 year-old full brother, Azmar, is 17.1 hh and uphill. Azmar is also for sale and is located in eastern PA. Ashwyn's full brother, Azmar, is showing talent over fences in his training. His first vertical was 3', which he willingly went over. With his 17+hh size, higher will be no problem.

Ashwyn's dam, Matera, did not want to take the long way around in the pasture, so she decided to jump a fallen evergreen tree up a hill. The tree was about 6 feet across and 4 feet tall. She cleared it with great form, showing tucked knees.

Ashwyn is of similar quality to other Hanoverians which are imported from Germany. We do not want anyone to think that he is inferior to an imported horse. Even though Ashwyn was not imported, his sire was originally from Germany and is now in the Netherlands.

Ashwyn's sire, Akatschi, was imported to the USA from Germany and has now been exported to the Netherlands. He was sold to a young Dutch rider named Elisa Swanenburg.  She rides with Dutch Olympian, Coby van Baalen.  Elisa loves Akatschi and is doing very well showing him.  Akatschi won’t be coming back to the USA.
