Chapter 3

Ships Of Doom

Somewhere in the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand roamed two ships that were always on patrol searching for anything they could steal, loot, salvage, trade or eat. Their names were the Dragon and the Reaper. The foods that these gruesome pirate ships preyed on were humans and they were not to be underestimated.

Sixty crewmembers, five slaves and an ever-changing number of victims down below in the hideous putrid dungeons occupied the Dragon, a guided missile cruiser. A former Chinese Navy Captain named Tomga the warrior, a tall brawny, fiercely insane man, with a long ponytail, goatee and a pierced ornamented face of silver and gold, commanded it. He hijacked his ship from China and turned it into a floating house of death.

The ship was modified to meet the needs of its crew, with a custom torture chamber and kitchen, run by some very insane cooks called the Processors. The crew believed that if they tortured their prey before the slaughter it would push more of the adrenalin into the meat and thus make them become more powerful warriors.

The Dragon was equipped with high tech radar, communications and armed with heavy cannons, machine guns, a fifty-foot fortified patrol boat and thirty-five armed high powered Jet Skis called the Hornets, that were ready to drop in the water very quickly. And last but not least two twenty five-megaton nuclear cluster missiles, powerful enough to terminate a small country.

On deck they held prisoner in a large cage three very angry Komodo dragons, saved for their enemies, disobedient fellow shipmates or for just some refreshingly fun entertainment.

With their faces painted like lunatics and dressed to kill looking like sideshow carnival freaks, these deadly cannibal pirates kept all on the run and those that were too slow ended up reaping their horrors.

A very beautiful, venomous, cunning and evil woman named Caviperous commanded the ferocious Reaper. With a tall slender body, long black hair and supermodel features one would make the mistake of thinking that she was a charm school teacher. Her gruesome mad crew was composed of thirty very intelligent but insane females, stronger, larger and more deadly than some of the warriors on their mother ship the Dragon. Caviperous who was raised in Haiti maintained being a high priestess of the black arts and voodoo, some on both ships feared even her presence.

Sometimes one could hear the haunting music and the hypnotic beats of the drums and voodoo bells coming from the Reaper across the water as she carried out her rituals, sacrifices and spells. There still were some old stories going around that she had the power to turn the dead into zombies.

Caviperous and Tomga became lovers and allies during a ship battle in the Bermuda Triangle against the United States; he gave her the Reaper after U.S. forces sank her ship. The Reaper a hijacked U.S. combat support ship could cruise at much greater speeds than their mother ship the Dragon. It was equipped with on deck torpedoes, small cannons, night vision, rocket-propelled grenades, armed Jet Skis and mini guns stolen from U.S. helicopters and could accomplish deadly damage very quickly.

Both ships shared a common bond together, sometimes on festive occasions the Dragon and the Reaper would anchor next to each other for a party night of food, drunkenness, drugs, music, orgies and old stories of death.

There was no room for error or becoming useless by any of the crewmembers on either ship, for they swiftly got sent to the Processors or the Komodo dragons.

Despite some occasional differences, usually caused by the selfish and vain attitudes of Caviperous, the two Captains always remained in constant communications with each other, no matter how near or far. For Tomga remained madly in love and she knew just how to use him.

What Station One in Hawaii didn’t know was that the Dragon and the Reaper have been intercepting all of their communications regarding the Sphere and now Caviperous wanted the Orb. At a meeting on the Dragon anchored off the east coast of Thailand she voiced her intentions with Tomga.

"I must have it, you don't realize how much power this Sphere has, it can even raise the dead and stop us from aging. If I can control its powers we could control the seas, oceans and maybe even the planet, you must help me get it Tonga!"

"I'm not sailing all the way to goddamn Hawaii to get this stupid ball,” shouted Tomga, “and that's final! All you know is what you heard and all you have are these blurry pictures. If you ask me it looks like a fake, a crummy piece of shit painted beach ball. What if it's a trap of some kind, have you ever thought about that my pretty priestess? Do you still remember what happened to us out by Bermuda?”

"I want it! I want it! If you refuse I'll make sure that you never refuel again at the Malaysian refinery,” yelled Caviperous, “one signal from me to that base and your out of fuel, you know how much they fear me!"

“Maybe you won't live long enough for a signal! How would you like me to sink your little toy ship right now or better yet feed you to the dragons, don't you ever threaten me! You and your smelly cavewomen will see the bottom so fast if you ever say something like that to me again!"

"Oh,” yelled Caviperous, “but they don't smell so bad on party night? Let us see how your crew acts when they find it's no longer happening because of you! And by the way my little toy ship could put a torpedo in you so fast, all I need to do is press a button on this remote and you and your filthy idiots become history! Why do you think the Reaper is pointed directly at you? None of my ladies trust any of you slobs!”

“You wicked cut throat bitch!” Tomga shouted, as his two bodyguards angrily grabbed for their weapons.

The bodyguard of Caviperous a large muscular middle eastern female named Piranha, dressed in turtle shell armor quickly beat them to the draw with her samurai sword and looked them in the eye with a smile, ready for battle.

"You don't want your cabin soiled with bits and pieces of those two lizard faces, now do you Tomga?” asked Caviperous, “Piranha here will fillet them like sea snakes!"

"Listen I’ve had enough of this arguing. Everyone here needs to calm down over this stupid ball,” Tomga shouted, as sweat dripped off his face, “there's no need for us to start acting like children. We will do some thinking on a plan Caviperous; you are my one and only love. You know how much I love you and that I would give you the world if I could."

"Then give it to me!”

"Maybe you would like to stay for dinner tonight?" Tomga asked, "my brother Slasher and some of the boys came upon a large rat den on shore this afternoon, we must have gotten at least fifty big fat ones. The Processors are preparing a tasty dish now as we speak. I tell you what, I'll even break out a keg of sake that we ran across last week."

"Now your talking like Tomga the warrior,” said Caviperous, “maybe we can also do a little cuddling in your cabin afterwards now that you’ve come back to your senses on things."

"I'll meet you up on deck shortly my Queen and we'll talk about our plans on stealing this ball."

Caviperous and Piranha headed up to the deck for the dinner.

Tomga commented to his bodyguards. "You know there goes a very beautiful woman, but there's something about her that I just don't trust, we'll have to keep a eye on her."

"That Piranha looks like a killer beast," remarked one of the bodyguards.

"You warriors need to toughen up,” Tomga said, “I thought you are warriors, now your afraid of a woman?“

“That’s no woman,” replied the bodyguard, “that’s a monster.”

Later at dinner on the deck of the Dragon, the two macabre Captains enjoyed some sake and shared some old stories. Surrounded by skulls with candles and the sounds of screams, moans and insane laughter coming from inside the ship, Tomga and Caviperous tried to share a romantic evening under the careful watch of the three ever-distrusting bodyguards standing in the shadows.

“What the hell is that hissing sound I keep hearing,” asked Tomga, “it sounds like a cobra?”

“That’s Piranha, she always does it when she gets nervous.”

“I haven’t had a garlic rat this good since we met in the Caribbean,” Tomga said, as he picked at a tooth with a bone splinter.

“Yes only the best,” answered Caviperous, as she took a bite off a baked teriyaki human finger and took a swig of sake.

“Maybe you should thank the chefs, now that they’re here,” remarked Tomga, as three masked bodies all dressed in black approached the table.

“How was your dinner sir?” asked one of the Processors, in a deep eerie voice.

“Excellent, this is the best I’ve had in a long time, you have done very well. It was so good that I’ll have some sake sent down to your chambers and order all of your knives and instruments to be sharpened like razors. How about your dinner Caviperous?”

“Good, good,” she replied, as the cooks bowed their heads and left the deck, “you know that I can’t stand to be around those Processors, they give me the creeps. Please in the future keep those ghouls away from me and I mean it, sometimes I have nightmares about those men.”

“Do you know for sure that they are men?” questioned Tomga, with a spooky look in his eyes, “I’ve never seen them with their masks off, remember we take care of them and they take care of us.”

“Stop it, now your giving me the creeps!” Caviperous exclaimed.

“My darling,” whispered Tomga, over the candle light, “life was created for pain, suffering, death and fear, if you took that all away there would be nothing else for us to enjoy. Now could you please pass me the pickled kidneys my precious? The Processors work very hard on the kidneys to make sure they contain a lot of adrenalin.”

“My love, I have a need for your talented machine shop workers,” Caviperous said, while placing some papers on the table, “I need this small cage constructed to hold the magic ball once it is ours. Here are the designs and dimensions, it must be perfect for my spell to tap its powers.”

Tomga read the papers to himself and yelled, “sterling silver! We don’t have enough goddamn silver here on this ship to make this round cage and a long silver chain. You must be out of your already empty head, I can’t believe you!”

“There’s enough silver jewelry on all of your men, if you really love me like you say, you would prove it by giving me a sign of your affection. You always tell me that you want to marry me don’t you?  Maybe that was all just dirty little lies to get your way we me? If you decide to fulfill my wishes my future husband and King, I will promise to be yours forever.”

“You want me to tell my crew to surrender their jewelry?” Tomga yelled, “they are warriors, those ornaments mean alot to my men.”

“They only stole them off of corpses, let’s not turn this into a sentimental journey.”

After a few moments of indecision and deep thinking, Tomga said. “Then you will be my Queen forever and you shall have your cage. But beware Caviperous, even though I love you, I am wise to your deceptions and they will not be tolerated.”

“You just don’t know how happy I feel about this my King,” replied Caviperous, “it brings tears to my eyes, knowing that we’ll have each other forever. One thing my darling Tomga, I think you need to trust in me more, I’m really just a gentle kitten deep down inside. I will head back to my ship now to tell the girls the good news, I shall see you late day tomorrow my love and we’ll anchor next to each other and discuss our plans over dinner and drinks.”

Tomga smiled and kissed her.

“Guards, this has been the best day of my entire life, tell everyone and the Processors to prepare for the greatest dinner tomorrow, gather together all of the ships silver and take these plans of the silver cage down to the work shop and have them start immediately.”

Piranha and Caviperous jumped on their large Jet Ski and sped back to the Reaper.

“There goes the Queen of trouble,” said Tomga, to one of his guards.

The next morning at Station One Eric, Chi and Julia were on the back of the Orion, continuing on with their research and taking pictures of the Orb floating and spinning.

“God it’s awfully hot out here,” said Julia, “I wonder what the temperature is? I think that I’ve been spending too much time in that facility.”

While wiping the sweat from his head Eric jokingly replied, “last time I looked it was a chilling one hundred and eighteen degrees.”

“Here comes the head of the after life, the dead have risen,” whispered Eric, to Julia, as George walked up to the boat ramp and headed for the scientists.

“That’s not even close to funny,” remarked Julia, “you don’t know what that man is going through. I saw him earlier this morning sitting around in his room holding his head in his hands crying. Please Eric go easy on him he’s really having a hard time dealing with this.”

“I really didn’t mean it like that,” Eric said, seriously, “I’m just trying to keep some humor in the air, we all have been under so much stress over yesterday. I think a little laughter is the best medicine for us; otherwise we’ll drive ourselves crazy trying to figure it out. Everything happens for a reason; maybe we should just accept that. Besides after all I’ve witnessed on this project, I get a little hope knowing that there’s more to life than meets the eye.”

“Hey everybody what’s up?” shouted George, as he arrived at the Orb, “I’m really sorry I’m late.”

“That’s perfectly alright.” Julia said. “Did you get some sleep last night?”

“I slept like a baby, whatever you gave me put me on cloud nine. Just keep up the good work and don’t worry about me I’m doing great, god it sure feels good to be out of that complex.”

“Where do you think the Sphere came from?” asked Chi, “it's got to be the most beautiful object I have ever seen.”

"What ever it is, it's not from here,” replied Eric, “the Sphere was either planted here or fell from the sky. What fascinates me is that it seems to have some great ability to manipulate matter. What I find so hard to understand is that it has the knowledge of future events inscribed on it that later through time ended up becoming true. Which means that whatever else is found on this has got to be taken for a fact.”

"Look it's Del running down the pier,” Chi said, “he looks pretty excited.”

"Guess what! Guess what?" Del yelled, as he ran to the back of the Orion, "I got on the computer and solved the code, I aligned the map on that Orb and it turns out the eleven markers are the eleven blast sites of the Great War. Two in the United States, two in India, four in Pakistan and one in China, Tehran and Baghdad, I was conducting searches under world wars and tragedies.”

"Calm down just a second,” Julia said, “you look like your eyes are going to pop out of your head, someone get him a glass of water."

"There's no time for water," exclaimed Del, "I deciphered the Orb’s codes and there is some kind of reclamation that is going to happen very soon, something or someone is going to take back what is theirs. I also figured out that the Sphere has a translucent star chart on it of the Pleiades constellation, The Seven Sisters.”

"What about the mystery location on the map?" Eric asked.

"The door that looks like a sun with a eye in the center is located directly between the island of Koh Samui and the mainland of Thailand, replied Del, the island is twenty five miles off of the peninsula."

Suddenly a cannon was heard firing at the island from the end of the harbor.

"I've been noticing those ships grouping out there,” Julia commented, as a artillery shell exploded on the side of the mountain, “I hope it's not the beginning of more trouble?"

"It very well could be,” replied Del, “when I was leaving the Station, I saw Brian and some others gathering up in the control room."

Up in the control sector Commander Marshall and the military advisers were having an emergency meeting.

"Sir, the attackers from the Philippines seem to be gathering on the west side of the island,” said an adviser, “they already have five ships and continue to add a new ship every few hours. We don't have enough defenses set up there. It's the Manila group again; this time they have more ships and people. They have at least four hundred men and are ready to launch an attack shortly! We can't fight off that many at once. They also have two ships blocking off the end of our harbor."

"If they land on the west how much time will we have?” asked Brian.

"Roughly fifty minutes,” replied the adviser, “we better do something fast."

Brian turned to his lieutenant and said, "order the ships to be fully armed and stocked with everything that is needed immediately in case we need to evacuate."

"What about the ships blocking the harbor?” the adviser asked.

"We'll leave that up to the Atlantis," said Brian, as he ran out of the room and headed for the elevator.

Soon everyone on the Orion began to notice that the area was becoming more active.

“Look over there,” said Chi, as she pointed to everyone running back and forth loading torpedoes, artillery shells and supplies on the ship and the two submarines, "I wonder what’s going on?”

Within a matter of seconds the alarms went off everywhere through the entire complex, followed by a page by Commander Brian Marshall.

"All personnel prepare for a immediate evacuation Stat One! I repeat Stat One!  We are under attack!"

The Atlantis was loaded and it quickly submerged beneath the deep harbor, while support crews ran up and down the pier with supplies. Armed commandoes ran to take up their positions everywhere between the Station and the ship dock.

"Not again,” Chi exclaimed, “I'm heading to the top. They might need some help up there. Those pirates are a lot faster than you think!"

Chi ran up the hill towards Brian as the sounds of sporadic machine gun fire could be heard in the distance, followed by two very large explosions on the beach. Over the top of the mountain suddenly appeared roughly three hundred attackers running down trails and ascending from ropes. Some armed with no more than hatchets, swords, spears, bows and arrows. Their one goal was to terminate every life form in Station One! The pirates moved in closer as the U.S. commandoes began firing machine guns and rocket propelled grenades up into the surrounding trails and jungle.

A Navy Officer, Commander Marshall, and two security soldiers were busy at the top exit, helping to evacuate the remaining four personnel when Chi ran up with two commandoes.

“Lets go, here they come! How many are left?” she asked.

“This should be the last of everyone,” answered Brian, as everyone ducked for cover to avoid another explosion.

A Navy Seal quickly ran out of the exit and up to Brian.

“The welcome wagon has been set sir.”

Then he continued running to the ship dock with a computer in his hands while the few remaining groups of personnel could be seen franticly boarding the Orion and Monarch.

Brian yelled. “Hurry and head for the ships they are getting closer!”

They made it half way down the steep hill and unexpectedly a marauder ran out of some bushes on their blind side, threw a grenade and began exchanging gunfire with two commandoes.  A soldier and a technician fell to the ground dead. A security soldier returned fire blasting the enemy down the hill with a barrage of bullets.

Suddenly Chi turned around and screamed.

 “Oh no it’s a nurse!”

Everyone turned around in shock to see a young nurse running frightened for her life down the hill, with four pirate predators chasing twenty yards behind.

“What the hell is she still doing up there!” yelled Brian. The invaders quickly caught up and kicked her to the ground and then proceeded to drag her back up the hill screaming.

“Hold your fire you’ll hit her for sure,” exclaimed Brian, “the rest of you get to the ships and I mean fast!”

Without saying a word Chi immediately started to run up the hill.

The scientists on the Orion watched helplessly.

“Oh no,” Julia exclaimed, “they have Sarah Riggins, someone please help her!”

“Now Chi is going up there,” said George, “what is she crazy? She’ll never survive taking on those barbarians.”

“Don’t be too sure about that,” replied Julia, “Chi has some very talented abilities.”

Chi quickly reached the surprised predators with a flying jump kick and some deadly blows! One attacker fell to his knees holding his throat gasping for air and slowly suffocating. Next doing an airborne spin she smashed one pirates face with her hands while turning with a double kick breaking the leg on the other assailant!

“Go! Run! Run!” Chi yelled, to the nurse as the last pirate with one eye and a large scar on his face came at her swinging two samurai swords.

“Your fish bait you stinking little shrimp!” he yelled.

Chi ducked three deadly swings and did a cartwheel. And while the attacker charged, with eyes full of rage, she swiftly grabbed a sword off the ground and pitched it directly into his chest!

A shot was heard coming from around the surrounding jungle.

Chi turned around to see another attacker slowly falling over behind her with a battleaxe in his hands, ready to strike, with a bullet hole in his forehead! She quickly ran for the ships while a camouflaged U.S. sniper ran out of the bushes and accompanied her back with scores of pirates coming from everywhere in fast pursuit! They barely make it up the boat ramp to the Orion when a cannon was heard firing from the end of the harbor.

A loud explosion rocked the ship as a shell hit the center of the dock blowing it to pieces. While debris rained down on everything, the Monarch and Orion slowly headed out to the middle of the harbor. The pirates rapidly infested Station One like a colony of red ants, looking for anything of use or trade.

George asked, “what about those two enemy ships blocking us in?”

Immediately Brian picked up his radio and made a call and a moment later an explosion was heard at the mouth of the harbor as an old Philippine combat ship blew up from a torpedo. With the water on fire all around, it exploded again and sank to the bottom, leaving debris and bodies floating everywhere.

The Atlantis surfaced in front of the Orion and Monarch while the other Philippine warship did a retreat into the distance for it had no weaponry to fight against submarines. The three U.S. ships cautiously headed out into the Pacific picking up speed, sailing in a row as the Atlantis submerged again for security reasons.

Standing on the back deck of the Orion, the group of scientists, the Commander and some soldiers silently watched as Station One slowly disappeared into the sun. The Orb just continued to spin hauntingly above the deck.

“Now we’re all homeless,” Julia said, looking stressed out and uneasy, “it’s kind of scary. I’ve always wanted to leave that island, but now I feel so insecure. Where are we going Brian?”

“Your guess is as good as mine,” answered Brian, “why don’t we just get the map out and throw a dart at it?”

“How about if the dart lands in the Gulf of Thailand,” commented George, “you don’t know yet Brian, but Del figured out the map and the code on the Sphere, the mystery door awaits us on Koh Samui.”

Brian turned around with a blank expression on his face, and said, “Koh Samui? Are you sure, why didn’t someone tell me?”

“We were too busy being attacked,” Eric answered, “Del told us only moments before the siege.”

“We should go Brian,” Julia begged, “you know how much research we’ve clocked in on that Sphere, aren’t you curious that maybe the secret of this is to be found there?”

“You know we really don’t have many choices,” said Brian, “sooner or later we’re going to run out of fuel and resources, we’ll just become sitting ducks for all those assholes out there. We are already running low on munitions, torpedoes and rockets. If nothing else we can always find somewhere on land to settle and start again. There are still plenty of uninhabited islands and jungles.”

“Thailand is very beautiful,” remarked Chi, “it’s like paradise. I spent a good portion of my childhood there with my father. The blue water and tropical fish still stand out in my mind.”

“It sounds like such a adventure,” Julia said, “please Brian can we go, in the name of science and paradise?”

Brian looked around at all the anticipating faces, he smiled and picked up his radio, “Lieutenant, chart a course for all ships and immediately proceed to Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand.”

Everyone looked around at each other in silent jubilation as Del jumped in the air and yelled,  “right on!’

Meanwhile back at Station One the pirates were busy having a field day looting, stealing, and fighting over all of the precious abandoned goods and equipment. On level three five plunderers ran into the lunchroom and they found a birthday cake, cookies and a wrapped gift on a table waiting for them.

“Look,” said one looter, “I hope we didn’t spoil their shitty, little party.”

“The cake tastes pretty good,” commented another, as he dug his dirty hand into the cake, grabbed some and pressed it to his face laughing.

“There’s only one present,” a huge pirate with a spear remarked, “and there’s five of us. I say lets fight for it!”

In only an instant the savage with the cake on his face ran his sword right through the instigators chest.

While watching him fall to the floor dead moaning he laughed, and said, “this is how we start my party, don’t you all agree?”

The other three pillagers backed up in fear, as cake face opened his present and took the lid off the top of the box.

         “Oh no!” he surprisingly exclaimed.

And lying in the box was a computer with red lights and a flashing red counter reading down the numbers five, four, three, two, one.

Enormous flashes could be seen from the deck of the Orion followed by a huge explosion coming from the island of Kauai.

“It looks like they made it to the party,” commented Brian, looking at the group sadly, “I hope someday there will be a end to all of this madness.”

Later that afternoon on the top deck of the Orion the researchers, officers, and the Commander exchanged ideas.

“How long do you think it will take us Brian to reach Koh Samui?” asked Del.

“I would say around two days which is good, our ships are up to full speed now in hopes that we can shake off those two remaining Philippine boats that have been following us. They must of somehow survived the bomb on Kauai, I think they might have missed the explosion by arriving a little late and now have realized that they are homeless too. They’re just curious as to where we are headed rather then being a threat. One thing we will have to watch out for is this typhoon that’s’ happening off the coast of Vietnam, those storms can be very unpredictable.”

“Excuse me, I hope I’m not interrupting?” questioned a nurse, in a soiled uniform who approached the lunch table, “I just wanted to tell Chi thanks for saving my life back on the island. I should have left when I had the chance, I put every ones life in danger and I really feel bad.”

“The main thing is that your alright Sarah,” said George, as tears ran down nurse Riggins face, “I must say myself that I have never seen better martial arts demonstrated before. Chi you are certainly one very dangerous, petite little lady.”

“Life is to be protected and respected,” Chi said, sitting there with her long black hair blowing in the ocean wind, “that is what I was taught to understand from my father and also that where there is no fear there will be no true failure.”

“Tell me Sara,” Eric asked, “why did you take so long to evacuate?”

“I forgot something in my room and I went back to get it,” she answered, looking embarrassed.

“What could possibly be worth losing your life over?” Julia asked.

“My makeup, I don’t go anywhere without it.”

“Now here’s a lady that always wants to keep looking good even in the most death defying moments,” Del joked, as everyone shook their heads in disbelief, “this could be the beginning of a very good makeup commercial. Sarah, beyond all of the jokes, I’m really glad that your ok and maybe one of these days we can get together for dinner.”

“I’d love to,” Sarah answered, as she headed off to her cabin and flirted back at Del.

“I am so attracted to that women,” remarked Del, “I’ve never felt that way before about anyone. She makes the hair stand up on my neck.”

“I think she has an eye out for you too,” said Eric, “that’s one ripe anatomy she has.”

“Oh,” said Julia, jealously, “so you’ve been sizing up nurse Riggins?”

“Well it’s hard not to notice, with that one size too small uniform you make her wear.”

“That’s all that was available Eric, we didn’t have a custom tailor in Station One.”

Julia picked up a pair of binoculars and looked out to the ocean.

“I have a feeling this will be the beautiful escape and adventure we’ve all been hoping for,” she commented.

“I sure hope so,” Eric said, looking around at everyone, “I keep having a very strange dream that keeps reoccurring. The last couple of nights I keep seeing a figure in a black hood with demons all around and there are these visual images of suffering, torment and death coming from out of the surrounding landscape. I keep getting closer to the cloaked figure, but when I reach out to unveil who is under the hood I see a bright flash of light and I wake up in a sweat disoriented.”

“Eric, you really need to start focusing on some positive thoughts,” Julia said, staring at him in unbelief, “remember your still a role model around here, and we need to keep the morale up. We’re all frightened enough over what has happened. Let’s not make things worse.”

Eric just looked around at everyone and sadly apologized.

“I’m sorry everybody, I just haven’t been getting enough sleep lately. Julia maybe you can give me something to help?”

“I will,” Julia answered, smiling, “I’ll see you down in your cabin later tonight and I’ll give you your remedy.”

“Let’s just hope we don’t run across these mutant sharks that I heard the Italy Station encountered on the shores of Vietnam and Thailand,” said the Commander.

“That sounds very frightening,” remarked Chi, “I’ll have to keep in mind to stay out of the water.”

“These sharks are different,” George added, “the radiation fallout mutated them, now they can breathe out of the water for up to two hours and they can run on their muscular fins at speeds up to five miles an hour, they have turned into a large form of the Snakehead fish species found in China. These seven-foot long sharks all in a pack chased an Italian submarine crew who were taking a break on the shore, two blocks on land. They killed and ate fourteen sailors.”

“This trip to paradise is really starting off on a bad note,” commented Del, “and is there anything else we should look forward to?”

“Yes,” the Commander replied, “there was some intelligence information that came in last year about some crazy, large settlement called Gyri that was being formed forty miles from Koh Samui on land by these hyper-intelligent mutant humans who call themselves the Head Players. Unfortunately our people have long disappeared and they have probably taken the remaining information with them to their grave. The last thing that we received from that area was an image of our contacts frightened and screaming on a television screen, coming from the center of a bigger television, that was projecting from an even bigger television screen surrounded by mirrors.”

“They had these small saucers flying around them,” added George, “with rotors on top and equipped with tiny cameras, sensors and implements. Let me tell you it was one of the craziest things that I have ever seen. Then we lost their transmission.”

“Isn’t Gyri a part of the brain?” asked Chi.

“Yes,” answered Julia, “paranormal and floating out of the body experiences generate from that section of the human brain. Still to this day no one has been able to explain the mysteries of the Gyri.”

“Let’s not forget about the poisonous flying biting spiders,” Brian said, teasing at everyone’s curiosity, “they eat meat and have wings like dragon flies. The radiation from the China blast changed their genes. Also there is a great Ebola epidemic in that whole area that started after the Great War. Some terrorists who were angry about the middle east bombings released the virus just before they got caught. It spread everywhere including into themselves, the virus was genetically redesigned to kill much faster and now your deader than dead in less than three days after your exposed to it.”

The three nomad U.S. vessels headed off into the sunset and the renegade Asian seas with the two homeless Manila ships following not far behind. Eric and Julia walked to the front bow of the ship, where they shared a romantic kiss and a glass of wine. The magical Orb spun hauntingly on the back of the Orion with a few crewmembers standing around, watching it in silence.

“You know Julia,” Eric said, “it’s been a long time since we’ve had enough space to be alone with each other, I hope one day we will always be with each other.”

“I know,” whispered Julia, as she gave Eric a wink and held his hand, “let’s go down to my cabin and you can get your remedy, your still my number one. Your starting to scare me with all of this talk about death and demons.”

“I don’t know what made me bring that up in front of everyone, its really been troubling me, because when I dream these things they always come true.”

Julia just looked at him very concerned and then they both walked down below, arm in arm.

On the Reaper, in the Gulf of Thailand a crewmate ran up to Caviperous, and handed her a message, then silently hurried back off to her position in the communications room.

“Get me Tomga on the radio and make it fast,” ordered Caviperous.

“What now? Don’t bother me, I’m busy arranging everything for tonight!”

“We have just intercepted a message from the United States,” said Caviperous, “we don’t have to sail to Hawaii to steal the magic ball, their ships are headed to Koh Samui for some unknown reason. They have blown up their island and the Manila ships while retreating from an attack, they’re coming directly to us. This is my perfect opportunity to create a very brilliant plan.”

“This is a blessing from the god of death,” Tomga replied, in celebration, “this will save us a huge amount of fuel.  We’re only thirty-five miles from Koh Samui. What the hell are they going there for? We’ve been on that island a thousand times and killed every living creature. There’s nothing on Koh Samui anymore, just some old abandoned oil wells, gem mines and villages. It’s good to know that those Philippine bastards are finished, if it wasn’t for them I would have two of my destroyer ships still with me, I hate those people.”

“Well two of their ships survived,” said Caviperous, “they are following the Americans out here, now maybe you can get your revenge?”

“Get my revenge? We don’t need any more competition out here; this is starting to turn into a three-ring circus. We’ll be lucky if we don’t get sunk trying to get that lousy ball you want, highly trained people operate those U.S. boats. I haven’t even heard your plan on how you’re going to get that ball without sinking their ships?”

“You leave the details up to me and remember, I was the one born with the brains.”

“I have to go,” yelled Tomga, “the horn just went off, my brother Slasher is coming in with the patrol boat and our new prisoners, anchor next to us before sundown and we can start our party.”

Tomga went to the top tower and watched while the gunboat got tied to the ladder platform.

“It looks like a good catch you came upon?”

“Yes indeed,” shouted Slasher, “we caught these six idiots trying to cross from Lang Saan over to Vietnam on a very slow beat up shit boat. The other three of these pigs got fed to the sharks on the way here because they tried to fight back.”

“What perfect timing,” Tomga said, to all of his crew on deck, looking out over everyone, “it looks like they arrived just in time for our dinner tonight, good job my brother. Someone get the Processor judge up here to sort these pigs out. Slasher you know that dogs aren’t allowed on board, we’re not running a dog house here.”

“Yes my brother.”

The prisoners began getting kicked, punched and pushed up the steps, forced to board the Dragon. Three middle age men tried to fight back, yelling at the kidnapers, who soon convinced them to continue with swords pressed against their throats. An old man, old woman and a young pretty American girl from Brooklyn in her early twenties holding a small dog begged for mercy crying. The rest of the Dragon’s crew surrounded them laughing, jeering and spitting on them.

Slasher grabbed the dog from the crying girl’s arms and threw it into the air overboard. Before it hit the water the vicious killer pulled a double barrel sawed off shotgun from his belt and blew the spaniel to shreds. The young woman fell to the deck weeping and was pulled back up by a couple of madmen who taunted and mocked her.

“Well dog gone it, how about that,” laughed Tomga.

“Please don’t harm my parents,” cried the woman, “we mean you no harm, we were just trying to escape the mad riots and mobs of Bangkok and go to Vietnam.”

“You don’t know what madness is till you come on this ship,” replied the Processor, waiting on deck with a crazy painted mask covering his face, “welcome to the Dragon and I hope you don’t have a pleasant stay.”

The Processor pointed at the old couple and let out an insane evil laugh.

“Send them to the dragons, their old flesh is worthless here.”

Four pirates grabbed and dragged the two by their hair screaming and crying towards the Komodo cage as the young girl watched helplessly and screamed hysterically.

Then the Processor pointed to the three men and sang out like a madman.

“Take them down and take them down, forever, to the chambers of pleasure.”

In the corner on the deck, a laughing insane midget pirate was seen jumping up and down on a small trampoline, singing, dressed like a devilish clown, with bones scattered all around.

“The snakes they slither, the snakes they quiver, now your going to be our dinner.”

The three men got dragged below to the torture chamber and kitchen by six attackers. The crew stood around kicking and spitting on them on the way down, laughing and howling in celebration. The Processor dragged the horrified girl to the heinous dragon cage by her hair and whispered something into her ear.

“We need to get more fear from you my lovely one, fear is what makes the world go round and round. You see our little pets here haven’t had their dinner in five days.”

The old man and woman were thrown into the large cage weeping. The crew began to laugh and cheer as the dragons started slowly slinking towards them. Tomga looked on from the top tier, cracking a smile in anticipation while the young lady screamed in horror.

“Mom! Dad! Oh please, no, no, no, God no!”

“Mandy! Mandy I love you!” her mother screamed back.

The dragons swiftly lunged at her frightened parents and tore them to pieces. They ate everything including their blood soaked clothes. The young girl fell to the deck sobbing, choking and vomiting.

The Processor then kicked Mandy in the stomach and began shouting.

“You dirty slut, now look what you’ve done, we try to keep a clean ship here!”

He kicked her once more and rubbed her face in the vomit yelling.

“Take her down below to the lock up, I will start on the three in the chamber!”

Two slaves dressed in drag came up from below and started cleaning up the mess.

A large pirate with a machine gun on his back came up to Mandy.

“Here, let me give you a helping hand up.”

Crying she reached for his hand, only to find she was holding the freshly severed hand of one of the others that were taken below. It was her older brothers hand with his class ring still on a finger.

Mandy began to scream uncontrollably as the crew laughed and called her obscenities.  She was dragged down to the Processors section, thrown into a locked holding cell scattered with skulls, human bones, waste and stinking from the foul smell of rotting death, where she fainted and fell to the floor unconscious.

Many hours later Mandy awoke to the sounds of moaning and a voice begging for mercy coming from down the hallway.

“Someone please help me! Please stop! Oh please stop! Ahhhhh!”

“You need to get more adrenalin in your meat my dear friend,” echoed a Processors voice, “then we can stop your pleasure. Don't worry, everything stops bleeding sooner or later.”

Loud screams of pain and agony engulfed the hallway. Then there was nothing but silence and the glow of the candles in skulls hanging on the wall.

A pirate came down the dark hallway to her cell and placed a cup of blood tea and a piece of cooked sausage on a plate in her cell.

”Here’s some dinner and something to drink, you must keep up your energy. The Captain is still deciding what should become of you. You will be either the ships whore or tomorrows lunch.”

“I can’t eat anything.”

“Eat it now or I will take you to the dragons!”

He pulled out the cell keys from his pants and Mandy quickly picked up the plate and began eating the horrid sausage.

“Good now drink your tea.”

She grabbed the cup and swiftly drank down the blood tea with it running down her face. She gagged while trying not to vomit.

The pirate turned and walked back down the dark hallway.

Mandy peeked out through the cell bars and tearfully asked, “where’s my brother, is he alright?”

“Your as close as your ever going to be with him,” the pirate said, with a evil laugh, “he is the sausage.”

Mandy let out a loud desperate scream and fell to the floor, vomiting once again. In the dim holding cell she sat there in shock, weeping, pondering and trying to understand why life had deeply forsaken her. Finally exhaustion and the steady rocking of the boat sent her off into a painless sleep.

Late that evening the party was finally starting to wind down, with Tomga and Caviperous sitting on the upper deck looking out over the Gulf and all of the drunken, drugged up crewmembers from both ships lying around on the Dragon and the Reaper.

“The sky looks so good tonight,” said Tomga, “or maybe it’s because you are here with me my Queen?”

“There is something wrong with the sky,” commented Caviperous, “look up at the constellation Pleiades, the seven stars are changing their configuration. I’ve been looking at them my whole life and now six stars are making a circle around one star. This is so strange, because galaxies can’t change their positions that rapidly. I saw them two nights ago and they looked just like they always did.”

“It must be too much rum you drank if you ask me,” Tomga said, “hey, look at that. Can you see all of that weird fog creeping in and crawling over the water with those little twisters hovering around?”

“That does look pretty odd, I’ve seen a lot of fog but nothing like that, it looks so ghostly. I don’t know why I feel so tired tonight, it must be too much drinking and too much of that marvelous sausage.”

“I agree,” said Tomga, while yawning, “I feel like I could fall asleep right in my chair, I am so tired.

Night set in and the fog just kept growing thicker on and around the two ships while everyone on the Dragon and Reaper fell into a deep sleep.

Mandy suddenly awakened, frightened for a moment in the darkness, seeing a haunting silhouette shape in the foggy hallway.

“Who’s there, who’s there?” she asked, from out of the shadows.

In her mind she heard a tranquil voice whisper. “Sleep, sleep, sleep.  And may you never fear again.”
