"THE
ARK OF HAON" Puzzle Of Light The U.S.A. still managed
to maintain and operate a top-secret naval research center located deep
within the Hawaiian mountains on the island of Kauai. It was called Station
One, a self-sustaining fortress complete with its own hospital; a refinery,
greenhouses, laboratories and perpetual operating power generators. Roughly one hundred and
fifty scientists, doctors, computer experts, research technicians, and
military personnel occupied the facility. Their waters were guarded by the
last of the U.S. Navy fleet. Two nuclear submarines, the Monarch and the
Atlantis and one old destroyer the Orion, each operated by a small crew and
all three equipped with modern day weapons, including anti-matter missiles. In order to save on
resources, munitions and to avoid confrontations with the savage pirates
these vessels always stayed close to the island. Sometimes the pirates would
form groups to sink or seize military ships and then they proceeded to eat
the survivors and prisoners. Another routine day of
maintenance and research was taking place in Station One that day. The lovely
Harvard professor Julia Lowell, a specialist in physics and human medicine
was lecturing and giving a tour to a group of scientists who have just
arrived from another Station. Their goal was to help in the study of a
strange enigma that was found buried in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia three years
ago and to also study the people who unearthed it, for they have never been
the same since. As they walked through
level three, the medical wing and into a secured area of rooms with other
research scientists, Julia began to explain. "Well here they are,
just don't blow your mind like they all did. In each room here sits a person
in some sort of trance, totally blind and none of them have aged a day in
three years. They were all on a mission in the Gobi digging for artifacts
when we found them wandering around like this. They were all speaking
incoherently; in what I would call talking in tongues and none of them ever
studied old Latin. What makes things even weirder is they were photographed
with sensatory light refractors; it enabled us to see this intense violet
blue aura around each of them. No human being has ever had a aura of that
magnitude and color.” A female Chinese
scientist named Chi Ming asked, "do you know how they all became
blind?" "No,” Julia answered, “all we
know is that whoever touches this unknown Sphere they found, ends up just
like them. We have five people of our own down here who also fell prey to it
before our computers figured it out. We had to use a robot to retrieve and
transport the Orb here. Now it's under lock and key down on level eight in
our most secured area." "What were they
saying when you found them?" asked Chi Ming. "They were all
saying the same thing in broken Latin,” Julia replied, “the words when
translated tell a story of a seventh angel, Ra the Egyptian God of the sun,
and a sacred ghost all involved in some sort of reclamation. We've done every
test possible on these people and still have yet to find anything physically
wrong. The scientists on level eight have been trying to interpret the codes
on the Sphere for three years and all they can come up with is that it's a
map.” "A map of
what?" Chi asked. "A global map with
cryptic signs labeling locations on our Earth,” Julia answered, “it seems
that there is more information or something else related to this discovery
somewhere on this planet. The problem is this globe is written in a code of
symbols unlike anything we've ever seen before. Enough brain storming for now
lets proceed to level eight and Dr. Eric Vogel will explain more about this
mystery." "Normally this is a day we
celebrate on,” Julia said, looking sad in the elevator heading down, “it's
the anniversary of the atomic war seven years ago that we all here managed to
survive. The bomb that went off in Los Angeles caused a tidal wave that
nearly devastated our island. Today we’re all feeling under the weather,
because unfortunately last night our head director Dr. George Maeher had an
apparent heart attack and passed away, it was quite a shock. He was a good
man and was loved by all of us.
He will be greatly missed." Then the elevator door
opened and standing between two security guards was a very handsome German
scientist, dressed in a white uniform, who had a big grin on his face. "Hello, welcome to
the twilight zone, I'm doctor Eric Vogel, I'm very pleased to meet all of you
and I hope you have had a pleasant journey on our Monarch. I've heard nothing
but compliments regarding your credentials, just follow me down this hallway
and we’ll get started on this fantastic puzzle. Time is running out." "How have you been
Eric?" Dr. Lowell asked. With a little romance in
his eyes Dr. Vogel replied, "I'm always in heaven when you’re in the
room Julia, you’re looking more beautiful than ever." The rest of the group
softly smiled while the blushing Julia stood there looking at him in
admiration. "Eric here is our
number one technical analyst. He has been working on this project ever since
the beginning and he's also a very gifted psychic. Sometimes we get him to find
a lost item or two around the complex, he's really quite good." A British scientist named
Del Sterling chuckled, and said, "well maybe he can find me a
wife?" "But first I have to
find one for myself," Eric replied, laughing and looking Julia straight
in the eyes. The group headed down the
hallway and Eric began to explain. "This Sphere is
really quite ancient, we did a carbon dating test on the soil and the rock
stuck to it and we found that it was buried sometime around five thousand
years B.C. We've been able to translate some of the codes and the information
refers to Jesus, Buddha, and unbelievably Nostradamus. It's a remarkable
prophecy, it predicts the coming of those prophets and some other mysterious
future events.” "What
materials is the Orb composed of?"
Dr. Sterling questioned. "It's harder than a
diamond,” Eric replied, “the robots were able to take a tiny chip off the
exterior surface with a laser, it turns out that it's made up of the same
materials found in a comet and its tail. Also the Orb seems to have a
magnetic hypnotic affect, it pulls on you and will mentally draw you closer
till you actually want to touch it, despite all of the dangers." They approached a large
automatic door and Eric warned the group. "Remember keep a
strong mind now, don't let it get in your head.” The door opened and in
the center of the room on a small stand, surrounded by two robots, cameras,
and other research equipment sat the Orb giving out a luminous glow. It
looked like a beautiful polished white pearl; twice the size of a basketball,
inscribed with magnificent gleaming symbols and artwork of stars and planets
colored in gold, black, red and silver. Everyone just stood there
astonished while the Sphere emitted a feeling of tranquility and serenity. "It makes me feel
like I'm in love,’ Dr. Ming said, heading towards the Sphere, “what a
wonderful feeling." The two security guards
quickly grabbed her back while Eric interrupted. "You must be careful
don't get too close, this thing is very dangerous!" “You can see everyone,”
explained Eric, “the code symbols are written in numbers, mainly sevens and
threes. Then there are these eleven markers like directional signs, each one
looks like a bright fiery reddish star. Once we can make the connection as to
what these signs represent we can align the Orb north to south and east to
west. The computer people just can't seem to make the globe match up to any
geological landmarks or locations." "What else do you
understand about this Sphere?" Dr. Del Sterling asked. "There is something
else here on Earth,” replied Eric, “this symbol right here on the side of the
Sphere is the main mystery and is marked plain as day. It’s a door that looks
like a solar sun formed into an eye with these angel like images floating
around, all of the references lead us to believe that door is some sort of a
portal." "Do you pick up any
psychic information from it?" asked Dr. Sterling. "It feels empty like
deep space,” replied Eric, “what I can’t feel is where this hypnotic vibration
is originating from, it seems to be coming from everywhere and everything, I
just can’t explain it. I think what we do have here could be the greatest
discovery of all mankind. Let’s call it quits; it’s time now for us to
take a quick break up in the medical wing lunchroom, it was a very long trip
for all of you on that submarine. I'm looking forward to all of your ideas." Back on level three at
the meeting there could be heard the sounds of random explosions. Chi questioned the noise
and Julia explained. "What everyone is
hearing are the sounds of cannons firing from on top of our mountain. The
pirates seem to be getting more aggressive these days; they keep trying to
push closer in up the harbor. The artillery on top still sinks a few of them
to the bottom, but I think they're realizing that we're slowly running of out
ammunition and we can't nuke them this close to the island. Last week
security caught three of them sneaking around on the beach. These are some
very scary individuals that you certainly would not want to bring home for
dinner, because you would end up on their plate." "Now look what
you've done Julia,” joked Eric, looking at his lunch, “you've ruined every
ones appetite." "Has anyone tried to
match up the signs on the Orb to any world events?” asked Del, "maybe
it's not about geography. I'm going to try some searches under group
gatherings, natural and paranormal occurrences, world tragedy and crisis. I
could swear I've seen those markers in those positions somewhere before." "Chi what is your
specialty?" asked Eric. "I am a professor of
cryptography and I also mess around with a bit of astrology." "How could you
master all of that?" Del questioned, "you don't look a day over
twenty five." "Thanks for the
flattering,” Chi replied, “I'm really thirty eight, you sure know what a
women wants to hear." "Chi is also a
martial arts expert,” commented Julia, “she kicked the hell out of a few
pirates at the Alaska Station while we were being evacuated." "That sounds pretty
scary,” said Eric, “what martial arts have you studied?" "Kung Fu,” Chi answered,
“I was taught by my father who was a Chinese master. Let me tell all of you,
what took place up in Alaska was very scary and the worst part of it was that
they all smelled so horribly bad." The whole group looked
around at each other a little speechless. Eric said, with a smile,
"I bet you saved up that thought just for dessert." "What did you make of the
language codes Chi?” Del asked. "It was written in a
universal code style, unknown to this planet until now, the numerology and
symbols point to our meanings of timelessness, immortality and eternity.” Into the meeting walked
the head of Station One with two security guards and he began to address the
group sternly. "Hello I’m Commander
Brian Marshall, if there are any questions, comments or anything you need,
feel free to contact me and I hope all of you get some inspiration from our
unknown Sphere. Don’t let the noise outside get you worried, keep in mind we
are very secure and well protected by the best trained U.S. forces.” "I’ve never seen
anything like this discovery,” said Del, “it certainly has its own mystique
to it." "Yes indeed,”
replied Brian, “if you touch it you'll become the mystique. I just stopped in
to say a quick hello and meet everyone and as you can hear our good friends
the pirates stopped by to taste our waters. Unfortunately very shortly after
we sink their ship, the hungry sharks in the harbor will taste them. I'll
catch up to you all later, also everybody there's a memorial going on tonight
in the auditorium for Dr. George Maeher." Suddenly a page blasted
out across the whole complex. "Commander Marshall
Stat One! Commander Marshall Stat One!" Brian rushed to the nearest
wall intercom, while the group looked at each other with fear in their eyes. "It looks like it's
serious,” Del said, “is something wrong?" "Very wrong,” said
Eric, “that’s our highest state of alert!" Commander Marshall got off the
intercom quickly and said, "there's big trouble! All of our electrical
systems and equipment across the whole complex are starting to go crazy and
fail!" He ran out the lunchroom door
and the lights begin to flicker. Red emergency lights flashed as another page
was heard across the facility. “All
personnel report to your stations Stat One Alert! I repeat Stat One Alert!" The group quickly grabbed
their paperwork and belongings and ran inside the medical wing. "What do
you think it could be?" Del questioned. "I don't know,”
replied Julia, “this has never happened before, sit here in our control room
and get on a computer, see what you can help out with! The lights slowly start
going erratic. "Look it's Eric,”
Chi exclaimed, “he's just standing frozen in the hall staring into space!” Julia ran out into the
hallway, started shaking him, and exclaimed, "Eric, what’s going on
are you alright?" Then everything
electrical throughout the entire complex and on their three ships completely
shut down including the emergency lights. "Eric can you hear
me?" Julia whispered. "Yes I can hear you,
please leave me alone, I'm trying to focus on this strange energy that I just
suddenly started feeling. It's a real trip, unlike anything I've ever felt
before." "Well you sure scared the shit
out of me,” Julia said, holding his hand in the dark, “it looked like you
were in one of those trances from touching that Orb. You know I think
sometimes that I picked the wrong career to be in; all of this stuff is
starting to get to me, it’s just too damn weird. Don’t tell me to leave you
alone, tell me what do you feel?" "A enormous presence
of beauty and perfection, whatever it is seems to be getting closer, it’s
very ageless and wise. Listen Julia can you hear that sound? It’s like a low
sustained musical pitch slowly growing to a higher note, the sound keeps
growing louder and higher and it's moving faster." "Yes I can hear it,
it's starting to really hurt my ears. Oh no, it's getting louder! Oh my God I
can't take it anymore!" Suddenly glass began to break
everywhere as everyone in the whole complex held their ears and fell to the
floor, in pain. Out of the blackness came the sound of a very loud crack,
similar to a lightning bolt, followed by a brilliant blinding flash of light,
brighter than one hundred thousand flash bulbs! Crying and moans could be
heard everywhere in the disarray and a cloud of confusion set in on the
facility.
"Oh God no! My eyes, someone please help me," sobbed a
nurse, from one of the rooms down the hall. It took ten minutues and
Station One started to function again. Lights began to twinkle on; machines
and computers awakened as everything gradually returned back to normal.
Everyone stumbled to their feet looking around in amazement, for now they all
were a witness to a miracle. Everywhere around Station
One there were unexplainable discoveries to be found. The eleven patients who
came in contact with the Sphere had suddenly been cured. They were all
walking around on level three asking researchers, doctors and each other
where they were and telling everyone how hungry they felt. Julia and Eric
looked on in shocked disbelief. Everyone in the whole facility slowly began
to realize that every cold, sniffle, scrape, cut, ailment and illness had
vanished. If that wasn't enough a
nurses scream from down the hall snapped Eric and Julia back into
reality. They ran down the
hallway to see what the chaos was all about and suddenly bumped into a
hysterical nurse running around the corner screaming. “What’s wrong?” Julia asked. Then the frightened nurse
turned around, pointed and continued running unable to explain. Julia and
Eric turned the corner in fear and stopped dead in their tracks. "Oh my God!" Julia
shrieked, as her eyes rolled around and she fainted to the floor. And there in a hospital
gown in bare feet with a tag tied to his toe stood the deceased director
George Maeher, walking around in circles yelling. "Would someone tell
me what the hell is going on here, what was I doing in the autopsy room? If
this is some kind of a joke believe me your heads are going to roll!" Eric shook his head in
shock, and said, "can someone please get some smelling salts and hurry?" With a crowd gathering
around, George walked up and said, "Eric what’s the matter with
her?" "Your what’s the
matter, you’re supposed to be dead! She's the one who pronounced you dead last
night and signed the papers, there's even a memorial set up for you in the
auditorium." "Dead," George
exclaimed, "have all of you gone crazy? I haven't felt better in my
life, I feel like I'm twenty again." Suddenly another page was
heard throughout the complex. "Dr. Vogel, level
eight, Stat Two!" Eric and the whole group
immediately ran to the elevator to head down! On the way there they passed
many shocked onlookers who stopped and were staring at George running. When they arrived at the Orb
room there was a crowd already gathering around the Sphere. "What’s going on?
Move aside, let me through!" Eric yelled. "We can't close the
door sir,” exclaimed the room monitor, “the Sphere is leaving the room! The
robot tried to stop it and the Sphere shut it down." And there was the
beautiful Orb hovering five feet off the ground and slowly spinning like the
Earth, floating out of the room and down the hall towards the elevator, while
everyone stood there hypnotized. "It's not empty
anymore,” exclaimed Eric, “whatever that presence was that I felt upstairs is
now in the Orb. Security we need to stop it, do not let the Sphere escape
from the complex!" Commander Marshall stepped up
and said. "Let it be, and that's a order. We found this, it's not ours
and we will not make it a prisoner here like ourselves. This thing is way
beyond us and lord knows what it's capable of doing if it feels threatened.
You've witnessed its power, it can raise the dead, if it wants to leave then
let it. But I don’t see anything wrong if we follow it and try to get some
more information, someone get the camera and the portable equipment." The Orb approached the
elevator and the door opened mysteriously as the researchers followed. Up to
the top of the complex, out the main entrance and into the sunlight it went.
Then it continued down to the beach heading straight to the boat pier with
everyone in pursuit like it was the pied piper. Down the pier and up the
loading ramp to the ship Orion the Orb floated. It continued to the back of
the boat and abruptly stopped, magically spinning five feet off the deck. “This is totally
incredible,” Chi said, gazing at the Orb, “I just can't believe all this has
taken place in one day.” “The day is not over
yet,” Eric Joked. “What do you feel
Eric?" asked Julia. “A psychic feeling that it's
waiting for something to happen. “Maybe it wants a boat ride?” After many minutes of
silence Commander Marshall interrupted. "I want more tests
done on this Sphere by all of you and I want tests done on all of the
patients on level three, you will be the first George, head up immediately
with Julia. Also I want everything we know on this Orb and this phenomenon
and what happened here today all sent to the Station Two in Italy as soon as
possible.” From the back of the ship
George was heard saying, "would everyone please stop staring at me, what
the hell's a matter with everybody? Haven't you ever seen a goddamn hospital
gown?” Later back up in the medical
wing at George’s examination, Julia reported. "George I can't find
anything wrong with you, this is absolutely remarkable. Even all the needle
marks are gone from last night, tell me do you remember anything about what
happened?" "Yes I do, it's
slowly coming back to me. First I remember that I had this pain in my chest
and I couldn't breathe. Everything seemed to be going really fast around me
and I felt very scared, then I heard this big bang in my head, like a car
backfiring. Suddenly I was in this dream, but it wasn’t a dream, everything
was so real just like you and me here right now.” “What else do you
remember George?” Julia asked. ”Everything looked so
perfect and extremely illuminated and bright. I felt this overwhelming
feeling of joy and happiness as I talked with my wife who passed away nine
years ago. God, I sure miss Nancy, she looked so good, like she was
twenty-three again, when we first married. There was some kind of beautiful
sound like music so peaceful all around and everything was lit up with indescribable
colors.” “It sounds definitely
like you had a out of body experience,” commented Julia, “I’ve got to say
George, that there has never been anyone who returned from the grave after
being dead for all of those hours.
I just can’t understand this? It probably was caused by that electric
charge that shot through the Station. We should try to study this more if we
ever get the time. Can you pinpoint what made the biggest impression on you
about this whole experience?” “What stood out the
most,” added George, “was that there were no shadows to be seen and I felt no
fear or worries. It was like this enormous pressure that has been pushing on
me my whole life had just been lifted off, I've never experienced anything
like it before. The next thing I remember is that I woke up in the autopsy
room." George lowered his head
in sadness, and wiped away some tears in his eyes. "Now that I think
about it Julia, I wish I could have stayed in that place forever." |
