Chapter 8

“Now what?” moaned Justin. For the past four hours they had been driving around Orlando checking places JC might go when he was upset. So far they had no luck in finding him.

“Well,” sighed Joey, “if we haven’t heard from him by morning, we call the cops.”

“Isn’t there anything else we can do right now?” asked Justin sadly.

“Let’s just finish moving you into our place,” suggested Chris. “Then we’ll wait there for C to return.”

“Fine,” grumbled Justin crossing his arms and started pouting.

“The rest of the trip back to Justin and Lance’s apartment was rode in silence, no one wanting to admit their fears about what happened to JC.

Twenty minutes later they arrived at their destination and all three sighed with relief when they didn’t see Lance around.

Taking that as a sign, they began to quickly pack up Justin’s things, but in the process they were also loud.

*~*~*

“Huh?” asked Lance waking up when he heard a loud crash from the living room followed by Chris, Joey and Justin’s voices. Looking up at JC, Lance could tell that the older man was still fast asleep, holding on to Lance tightly. A smile formed on Lance’s face as he watched JC and he realized that JC was still a heavy sleeper.

“Good thing Lance isn’t here,” Lance heard Justin say after another crash.

Sighing, Lance kissed JC’s jaw before prying himself out of JC’s arms and climbing out of the bed, all while trying not to wake JC. Pulling on a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt, Lance knew that if he wanted anything left in one piece he was going to have to supervise.

“Why is it as good thing Lance isn’t here?” he asked walking out of his room, closing the door gently behind him.

“Lance!” cried Justin in surprise hiding an object behind his back. “I though you were out!”

“I was asleep,” replied Lance stepping towards Justin. “Give me whatever you broke.”

“Okay,” sighed Justin handing over Lance’s ‘Cat in the Hat’ statue with it’s head broken off. Fearing for the worst, Justin quickly slipped behind Chris for protection.

“Oh well,” shrugged Lance. “It can be fixed. Just try and be a little more careful and a lot more quieter.”

“Who are you and what have you done to Lance?” asked a surprised Justin still hiding behind Chris.

Before Lance could reply however, there was a loud pounding at the door.

“Lance!” cried a voice. “Open up, we need to talk!”

“Leave me alone Nick!” called back Lance annoyed. “We’re through!”

“What did I do?”

“You were an asshole, that’s what you did,” growled Lance opening the door slightly to stare at Nick evilly. “Now get lost or I’ll call the cops.”

“Lance!” cried Justin as Lance slammed the door shut on Nick’s face. “You’re back!”

“I know Justin,” laughed Lance as the younger man ran over to hug him tightly.

“This means I don’t have to move!”

“What a minute!” interrupted Chris. “When we left you were still hung up over Nick. What happened?”

“Well-" began Lance but he was cut off by sounds coming from his bedroom.

“James? Lance?” called the voice and a few minutes later JC came stumbling out of Lance’s room and thankfully he was fully clothed.

“I’m sorry Josh,” replied Lance walking quickly over and hugging him, while the others looked on in shock. “I didn’t mean to be gone so long.”

“It’s okay,” replied JC resting his head on Lance’s shoulder. “I missed you though.”

“I missed you too,” replied Lance kissing JC’s temple. “I’m not going anywhere though. Never forget that.”

“Good,” replied JC kissing Lance passionately, until a cough in the background broke into their little world.

“Did you know how freaked out we’ve been over you?” asked Chris with an amused look on his face.

“Sorry guys,” mumbled JC clutching onto Lance for protection. “I wasn’t thinking straight.”

“Chris leave C alone,” scolded Joey. “Besides look at how cute they are!”

“They do look cute together,” admitted Chris. “But they both deserve some sort of punishment.”

“What do you have in mind?” asked Justin seeing the glimmer in Chris’s eyes.

“I think they should be . . .locked in this apartment together for the rest of the weekend while the rest of us have some fun.”

“Works for me,” answered JC quickly.

“Sounds good,” added Lance.

“Good, we’ll see you Monday then,” replied Chris turning towards the door, followed by Joey and Justin. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“I think I’m going to issue a no clothing rule his weekend,” chuckled Lance. “Clothes look good on you but they look better off of you.”

“You’re wish is my command,” replied JC pulling off his and Lance’s t-shirts before pulling Lance close again.
