“But I have no money!” protested Justin. “I’ve only been a Shepherd for a day! Chris pay him my share as well!”
“Fine!” grumbled Chris has he handed over the money to Joey that covered both of them.
“What’s going on?” asked Josh as he walked towards them. He had briefly left Lance alone in his room with Christina while he rounded up his friends and informed them of the news.
“We had a bet which one of you would faint,” explained Chris. “A nurse told us that Lance fainted, which met Joey won.”
“Nice to know you guys have that much faith in us,” replied Josh sarcastically.
“Tell us about the baby!” begged Justin.
“It’s a girl,” beamed Josh. “She’s in with Lance right now. Follow me and I’ll take you to them.”
Following Josh down the hallway the three of them were soon scattered around Lance’s bed with Josh sitting on the bed next to Lance who was holding their daughter.
“She’s adorable,” cooed Justin. “What’s her name?”
“Christina Josephine Bass.”
“Haha! I knew you couldn’t resist naming her after us!” grinned Chris brightly.
“Yeah, well you did get us together,” smiled Lance. “And we do like the name. We think it fits her.”
“Don’t you think Josephine Christina fits better?” asked Joey with a hopeful smile but both Lance and Josh knew he was joking.
“Sorry Joe,” chuckled Josh. “Maybe next time.”
*~*~*
Over the next few days, Lance and Josh quickly fell into the roll of fatherhood with a little help from Geek. Fortunately for them, Christina was a good baby who inherited Josh’s habit of sleeping, so they were usually able to make it through the night without having to wake up and take care of her.
Stacy helped out as well for a while but soon she realized that she missed living at her own place and moved back in there while promising to visit her niece every day to see how things were going.
Justin and Chris visited a lot as well, Justin more so than Chris as he would visit during the day when Chris was at work. Justin also had plans on finding a job and Chris offered to help, but right now Justin was enjoying his newfound freedom of being a Shepherd. Granted things had been tense for while between himself and the other Lambs that Chris owned, but they all quickly realized that although they didn’t love each other, Justin made Chris a lot happier and the other Lambs soon accepted Justin as their new master.
As for Joey, whenever he would visit he would bring his daughter Brianna with him. Joey had quickly gotten it in his head that Brianna and Christina would be best friends when they were older and he declared that they might as well get use to each other right away, despite the age gap between them.
As Christina grew older, her fathers quickly started spoiling her, well at least Josh did. All the time he would buy a child’s art set or a child’s piano for her and would watch with amusement as she would bang on the piano keys or spread paint all over their home, which Geek usually ended up cleaning up each night only having to repeat the process the next day after Christina had gotten into her paints again.
Each night Josh would beam proudly to Lance that their daughter was going to be a great artist some day. Lance meanwhile would gently kiss Josh and tell him not to spoil her too much. After Josh would promise Lance that he wouldn’t spoil her too much, they would make, sweet, gently love.
And each day, Lance and Josh’s love grew for their friends, their daughter and for themselves.
